Kanade21:I quite agree with your third point but are you aware major reason for the closure was security? And why are those countries building wall? Are they capable or their personnel are corrupted also? The simple answer is that's the best solution for now despite their technological advancements. 2 Likes |

seunmsg:what do you call smuggling? Bringin if foreign rice to nieghboring countries is not smuggling. It may be illegal in your country but its legal in other countries so what exactly do you expect them to fight? The question is who is guarding your border and how are they ensuring no body brings in illegal goods? 1 Like |

musicwriter: Let them(benin nd Co) start respecting the damn trade agreements nd make u see if border will not open... They fired the first shots by literally indulging smugglers because they collected the tariffs nd allowed the rice to be smuggled to nigeria. And so now let them keep collecting the tariffs but they should also eat their rice. We are growing our own. Pikin wey say hin mama nogo sleep him too no go sleep! Lets all break the rules 2 Likes |

Nanatrendy: Since you all like talking about rice, you need to know that it is illegal to bring in rice into Nigeria through land border. So, our neighbors should simply stop anybody trying to take rice into Nigeria through the land borders if they still want to do legitimate trade with us. |

GENEGIRIA: So what are your suggestions? We should open our borders? You had been eating rice from time immemorial, if rice is expensive, eat another food now, with time you get used to it. Meanwhile, you need little education with the so chaff you are eating that you called rice, the rice bran (that red stripe) that is rich in fiber had been removed before sending it to us,and in turn used it to produce Malaysian tea. That's why if you eat foreign rice without some vegetables to supplement it you are eating junks. Though total border closure might not be the end, but it is a means to an end, from our environment perspective. 1 Like |

i don't understand what you mean by 'why are you Ghanaians crying more than ............" that is the problem with you nigerians. first of all, when you say "Ghanaians are crying" do you realise how ridiculous that sounds? I don't want to insult anyone at this time, but what you just said is very absurd. when Nigerians shops were closed in Ghana some months ao, didn't your president send a high-powered delegation to Ghana to "beg' Ghana? or you have forgotten? is it because those closed shops were the ones driving the nigerian economy? i will give you just two reasons. the first is that the Governmnet of Ghana has an obligation to intervene whereever and whenever the interests of a single Ghanaian is affected. private Ghanaian business people petitioned their governmnet that they cant export their goods to nigeria because nigerian has closed its border. as a responsible governmnet, the Ghana governmnet took up the matter with the people in Abuja. that is what any responsible government would have done. how did that become 'crying" and begging as you nigerians want to portray it. secondly, Ghana is speaking on behalf of the rest of west africa. Ghana is making a strong case on behalf of other states in west africa. seunmsg: 1 Like |
