More details....

Now this is not a personal prediction or whatever, just gave the info as soon as I got it... It could materialise or not.. But dats not on me, so if anyone is saying I shouldn't pass the info becos nobody is 100% sure whether it's true or not, dats the person's business not mine...

. So if you follow my previous posts, I mentioned earlier that my boss here at Seplat Petroleum where I work has a nephew who also applied for GT and is among the hopefuls for this recruitment, so he (has connections to the Towers), that period when the rumour of cancellation got to a boiling point and I rushed to him, I told u all here he immediately put a call through to an immediate past COO who was his close friend who debunked the rumour, now that same time, the former COO sent him (my boss) the contact of a current human resource personnel at the towers and since then, the HR officer (a woman) has been updating him ever since. So this evening she called my boss to inform him that they had a big event today (NNPCQUIZ2019) that attracted huge dignitaries like dangote and governors, and after the event, the GMD had a very brief meeting with the HR and ICT departments and gave them the go ahead to start working on the documents needed to notify the successful candidates.. She also said they would start the process tomorrow Friday and hopefully BTW Monday 25th and 27th depending on the speed of things and how fast they can arrange the documents Because they are working on over a thousand applicants (GT & EH combined) notifications might start being disbursed. To add, My boss asked if she could check if his Nephews name was among,.. She declined saying it would be very risky to do that, that the names are shared amongst various officers, and one officer can only work on the letter of maybe 10 applicants, this way, they can't know everybody.. So that's it... I'm hoping it happens as I have heard this evening... Fingers crossed..
This one of the best news in this tread for some months now, thank for putting smile in thousand face, tank u for calming the tension,
I can't believe I stood all this long still hoping for APL, it didn't easy

Samuel Oluwatobi Ojo, being presented with the winning trophy by Aliko Dangote

Samuel Oluwatobi Ojo, a student of Apt Scholas Universal College in Ota, Ogun state has emerged the overall winner of the 19th Edition of the NNPC National Science Quiz Competition.
The annual NNPC flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, came to an electrifying end Thursday in Abuja, with Ojo coming ahead of 17 other students.

The event which was witnessed by President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, also had in attendance the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El Rufai, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammed, Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Haruna Manu, representatives of the governors of Akwa Ibom and Benue states, among other top stakeholders.

Master Ojo finished with 75 marks ahead of Master Mbazu Chinonso of Ebonyi State who emerged second-place winner and Master Great Ugochukwu of Abia State who completed the race in third place position.

Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipreye Sylva, left, and NNPC GMD, Mele Kyari, join Aliko Dangote and the young Samuel Ojo

This year’s edition of the Grand Finale of the NNPC National Science Quiz Competition had contestants tested in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and NNPC general knowledge, a release by NNPC Acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Samson Makoji has said.

Chief Sylva in his remarks commended NNPC for sustaining the competition through the last two decades and for bringing innovation to it, year-in-year out while urging other agencies in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to emulate the NNCP example.

The Minister explained that corporate organisations need to give back to communities, noting that it is in their enlighten self-interest to do so.

“It gives companies the licence to operate. In the Oil and Gas Industry in particular, giving back to the communities is imperative to get the support of the local community and guarantee smooth exploration and production activities,’’ he said.

Welcoming participants and guests to the amphitheater of the NNPC, Group Managing Director of the corporation, Mallam Mele Kyari, said that NNPC would not only sustain the sponsorship of the annual national quiz contest but would constantly seek innovative measures to improve the competition whose ultimate aim is to encourage students in the study of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related subjects.

Kyari observed that through the years, the quiz competition which was first held in 2000 had also helped to break down long-held stereotypes and engender a better sense of national being in participating students through cross-cultural interactions that the contest offers.

President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in his remark noted that since its inception, the NNPC National Science Quiz Competition had groomed a set of next generation of scientists and young leaders of thought set to be at the vanguard of innovation and industrial growth.

He said as the world moved ever faster into the period of the fourth industrial revolution, emerging economies like Nigeria needed agile-minded scientists and technicians who can think outside the box in the quest for solutions to the Country’s unique challenges.

Dangote said that by engaging these youths in the competition through the years, NNPC was living up to its expectations, defining a noble path for the future well-being of the participating youths.

“I can only encourage the corporation not to rest on its oars on this laudable initiative and others through which the company impacts on its publics across the Country’’ he said.

On his part, the winner of the competition, Master Ojo, commended NNPC for providing the platform which has enabled teeming youths like him to achieve their dreams and academic ambitions.

He implored the national oil company to keep the flag-flying so that young Nigerians would continue to find succour in the annual quiz contest.

Ojo as the winner will receive an annual scholarship of N300, 000, while the first and second runners up will also get N250,000 and N200,000 per session for the duration of their courses in tertiary institutions.

The 2018 quiz was won by Okeke Tony Kabilan of Spring of Life International School, Enugu, while
Isioma Nelson Ifeanyichukwu, a student of Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State, won the 2017 edition
