I assumed most people have forgotten we're still in a shit hole country where nothing works. No sector is spared including the health sector, so I think it will be grossly unfair undermining this people and their noble profession.
It's no more an argument this people are overworked, reason is not far fetched,we know the numbers of doctors leaving this shit hole yearly. And I think if they're not competent they won't be leaving and doing excellently well in countries with the best health services in the world.

It's a know fact that few hospitals are safe in the country due to the poor health services and not necessarily the competency of the doctors. Nigerian doctors are the ones practicing in the most hostile environment compared to other countries, they're short staffed, overworked, coupled with limitation of resources and with these they still give their best.

I have had multiple bad experiences with Nigerian doctors.

I have been misdiagnosed and struggled with health issues as a result of bad diagnoses.
However, I strongly believe that with a well regulated health industry, equipments, training and adequate pay, Nigerian doctors can easily perform better than their peers anywhere in the world.

This brings me back to what I’ve always said; Nigeria can never be a successful country until we have more middle class than poor people.

The poverty of the majority poor will make it difficult for any industry to flourish in Nigeria including the health sector.

Misdiagnosed? You are very lucky to be alive. My mom was misdiagnosed of breast cancer even after she'd found a small lump in her left breast. By the time LUTH got around to calling that thing cancer it had spread to her lungs and the whole breast was opening up. I was so young then and it was hell. My dad finally flew her overseas and she died there.

You are very lucky to be alive indeed.

I remember going to the hospital when I was around the age of 10 or so. When it was my turn to see the doctor, I went in. He asked what was the problem. I told him I had malaria. He looked at me, and asked the same question, I replied with the same answer. He now said, since you already know what you have, why are you here? That’s when it dawned on me that I should tell him symptoms...lol. After explaining the symptoms, he scribbled something in a paper and gave me.

When I left the office, I checked the paper. Normally, I wouldn’t have checked, would have just gone to the pharmacy/injection department. But something said I should check. I saw 10 injections two per day. I laughed. Went outside the hospital, tore the paper and went home (this was someone that vomitted blood just before she went to see the doctor o).

Days later, I returned with my dad and this time met with a female doctor who ordered for a test first. They saw the typhoid was already at a dangerous level. The lady understood somehow that I didn’t like injections, and prescribed drugs for me.

From my other experience with doctors, one thing I’ll say is female doctors are better. They are naturally caring.

Male doctors will only transfer aggression on you or try to play on your intelligence especially if you’re a female. That’s how one useless doctor wanted to sleep with me in the name of collecting samples.

WAWU! LOL

Nigerian Doctors are quacks .

When my brother was sick sometimes ago, Nigerian Doctors (both private and government) were treating malaria until we went to a medice seller in our area who adviced us to do TUBERCULOSIS test.

My brother was actually suffering from tuberculosis and Nigerian Doctors were treating malaria and collecting a lot of money from us.

We did the TB test and Treatment for free courtesy WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION.

When you are sick please don't listen only to Nigerian Doctors, seek advice from other people .

Thank me later.

Wonderful advice
Just seek advice from other people

Her supervisor didnt show up and left her to look after like 50 patients alone. Then they allowed him to fly back to Ireland

Poor diagnosis and wrong / high dosage administration of medication is the greatest problem with Nigerian doctors. If I am president tomorrow every medical practitioner will be check for proficiency regularly. Pharmacists and doctors must worked together. Pharmacist must respectfully review the dosage of medication administered to patients. Doctor must consult with lab scientist to get a proper diagnosis. All health and medical workers must work together. I have a comprehensive plan already for them.

It is obvious you dont know what you are talking about.
Nigerian should take there health serious
They should stop presenting to the hospital after doing self medication, patronising herbal concoction and kind of self medication
Then when thi vs go wrong they blame d dr

And dr are the one in the best position to blame.

Well, thats not to totally excuse doctors. Some of them have a terrible attitude as well and a lot of gaps in their knowledge that they dont want to correct. Its a two-way thing

But in that particular case, It was very sad to watch her being taken down unfairly.

Patients are " highly emotional". Is it necessarily always wrong to be emotional, especially when healthcare staff are refusing to listen to you or speaking to you in a condescending manner?

"Doctors are in the best position to blame" and sometimes try to evade responsibility by intimidating the patient.

Its a two-way thing

Well, been to the doctor's a long time now
I don't get beyond stomach infection and malaria which I treat every 2 months with an antibiotics and an antimalarial drug
I do take natural herbs in light quantities everyday which keeps me going.

But my last experience with 2 nurses at point road NPA clinic has a twist to it.
I slept like a normal child in the night of that faithful day but woke up 3 days later in the hospital, and unable to walk for more than a month(nobody told me before I knew where I was, cuz na normal joint, I sicked a lot for small pikin)

Now the full story
I was told I just became restless in the middle of the night, unable to talk or open my eyes, like I was just vibrating
I was rushed to one yeye graceland hospital in epe, where there was no changes for 2 days(I was shitting on myself)
Then my dad called my personal nurse at point road(angelic nurse, maybe she already knows my sickness features or something)
She just told them to bring me down to the hospital immediately. On getting there, she was on standby(like diz child ain't dying tonight on my watch cool
I was told she fixed me a drip and injected different chemicals into the drip.
Immediately, I began to sweat and made my first speech since 2 days.
They said I asked for food, that I was hungry(I never remembered saying this tho). I woke up the next day in the morning
Was admitted for 2 months with series of medicines(blue, green, yellow, magenta etc) and 3 injections everyday till I was discharged

Now the hard part
She and one older nurse were giving me the drugs and injections interchangeably
She was so gentle with the injection that I don't really feel it(she will even be the one to say am done sef) and pack the medicine give me(I got tired of the drugs later tho angry
But the other nurse, she was not easy at all, she slaps my veins out with anger, shook needle like say make e comot for the other side(no joy at all, no joy)

Op, na you ask of experience oo
I gave you full, no holding back wink
I was diagnosed with an extreme case of typhoid
I will forever hold her in my heart

In the year 2017, my 6 month baby developed seizure (I have forgotten the medical name for it) in the middle of the night and with the help of neighbours she was revived back to life. then early morning around 7am i and my wife rushed to Oni and sons hospital in Ring road, Ibadan.
when we got there, they said we need to register and collect card and other stuffs like that and the person that is suppose to give us card haven't come. around after 8. and being my first child and no experience yet I was already crying. I never knew I wasn't strong self, even the mother feels stronger than me that day. so I moved closer to one of the woman that works there that she should help me so she gave me the contact of a doctor that he is the assistant director of the hospital but also has his own private hospital in Oriya after challenge. so we rushed there. on getting there he said we should deposit 25k so that he can start treating her which i went back to challenge to withdraw and pay immediately. we are in the hospital for more than 2 weeks yet he keeps treating her and this baby is not showing signs of getting better. it got to a point, she will be cold outside and when you check her temperature it is 39.°
after two weeks I just change it for him that I'm taking my baby away from there that he never even tell me the problem and he keeps treating her and he said she has meningitis. wait how could a baby who is having seizure like she fainted be having meningitis even as a graduate of mechanical engineering I know that is never meningitis so I told him I'm withdrawing her and he said I cannot withdraw her. I was like, it is like you are mad sir. After paying 25k and bought drugs up to like 20k and I'm not seeing change you said I can't withdraw her. should I leave her to you then. this idiot start telling me he is an advocate of children. and I was should I involve the police or you feel like being unfortunate. so he said I will have to fill a form that I was the one that withdraw my baby and I will pay 37k for the 2 weeks we used in the hospital which I did immediately and left. Today my baby is exactly 3 years old she celebrated her birthday today 26th of November. the funny thing is that my dad just told me to use one herb for her, Agbo Iletutu(the Yoruba's understand that). Infact if i see that doctor tomorrow, I can pay people to beat him up.

It is obvious you are just being emotional because of your baby
Tell us d full story
What eventually is your baby diagnosis
Where did u take him to after that place I believe it not church of herbalist house.

If he was treated by another doctor and he got well
Dont u thinks you were suppose to mention the doctor or the hospital too and praise them
