If I have your papers and I require further clarification, would it not be more transparent and responsible to have you infront of me (like the US Embassy does) to provide the answers and then make my decision based on that than just Gbam! Declined, banned for 5 years.
Still on the IO, are they not human?, people who are subject to errors of judgement. Ask the general world population what they know or the impression they have of Nigerians. While some may have not met or interacted with one directly, others only from dishonest cases they have handled and, others who rely solely on news from doubtable sources. This, goes on to buttress the view of Nigerians as "the most hated specie of Blacks" in the world. If other blacks are ranked 20 for credibility, the Nigerian is weighted around 70, meaning he has to do much more than others to be credible... that is why for those who choose to stay in Nigeria,better to know what you and your children are up against (through no fault of yours) anywhere and everywhere you try to go in the world.

What I recommend is this, Canada is not the be all and end all of places, ignore them too for 5 years (no be your money you want go spend there before?) Take your money somewhere else for the next 5 years... American visa is more transparent as you appear to provide your answers, UK, now pls note Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, are all UK, you can visit so many. While in America, you can visit NY or any of those Canadian US border towns and have your relatives, friends walk across to come see you and when, after 5 years you apply, if Canada still dey shack you by then, you will outline how money you should have brought to Canada, you used to visit others...

Dude, not declaring your estate account might look trivial probably because the sums in the other accounts were enough to cover the cost of your holiday.

But for an embassy or high commission already looking for excuses to refuse Nigerians visa, you just played into their hands sadly.

Unless they asked you previously to declare ALL your incomes and savings. If they only asked you to prove that you have enough funds for your visit, then it's grossly unfair.

If you must visit Canada, then look for a good lawyer specialised in Canada visa matter. Better if a lawyer in Canada and you have friends or relatives to help you fight from Canada.

When I was denied British Visa, they told me I can appeal if I want to, but that I will most likely be denied the visa still. But I did not waste any of my time again with them.
They always do everything to discourage you from trying again.

But what I do know is that Nigeria is luck to have you outside her borders cause people like you who think being smart is all about taking advantage of the loopholes in our system to get crazily rich at the expense of others are the real issues of Nigeria.
