Drogba was not the finished article when he first joined Chelsea. Neither was Lampard and Terry. Damain Duff , Joe Cole and Robben all became better players under Mourinho.

Mourinho gets results he doesn't neccesarily make or improve players. He always gets finished article is not good at creating players.

Mourinho is a strategist not a coach.

Compare him to Arsen Wenger and you can see the difference. Wenger creates, improves and redefines players. Wenger is a coach and then a managers.

Wenger is the opposite of Mourinho and Mourinho the opposite of Wenger. IMO

His Ball-playing ability is basically average which is fair. He is 24 and can still get better with time.

His biggest strengths remain his speed, physical presence on ground and aerially, Rugged Aggresiveness in his defensive plays and Stamina. The lad plays with lots of power and has good enough speed which is why he could feature at RB sometimes even though he is a CB.

Please I have a very important question.

How is Dominic Iorfa's ball playing ability as a Centre Back?

oga that statement was not directed at you...

joebie knows who own that statement....

and for you...so you can analytical
why don't you apply same analysis in relating to SADIQ UMAR failed sojourn in Scotland... one bad experience does not judge a player as damn poor....

instead you're trying to still prove how poor he is and not up to rangers standard even when he is doing well in Belgrade....

must everyone okay in Scotland or England prior you deem them good enough...

you really need to apply your analysis on this...everyone cannot cut it out in same league but that does not reduce their quality

You claim to be educated.

But your approach to analytics is questionable.

There are two argument here with regards to Sadiq but you mix them up creating unnecessary contention and confusion.

First, issue is was he poor at Rangers and was he treated fairly ❓ My view resounding Yes.

Many have faulted my view but not with anything substantive just opinion. To bring an excuse for the inexcusable. You go on loan and your unfit very highly unprofessional.

Second argument where was he before Rangers and where us he now

He wasn't good enough for Roma, just another business transaction. He played games in different leagues and showed potential but was average or below. So he has had OPPORTUNITY at sub 10 rated leagues in the Eredivisie, Seria A and B not a lot of games.

He now drops to a league that's sub 20 it's poor and he is doing EXCEPTIONALLY WELL.

Is he doing well because he has improved or because he is in a poor league. That's the question ❓

My view he needs to play at a higher level at least sub 10 league before we will know if he has actually progressed.

Two separate subjects but the same individual.

In my opinion Mourinho hardly makes or creates players. He gets the finished article and strategically places them within his teams for best effect and advantage.

Drogba was already Drogba before Mourinho met him. He has the capacity to motivate when he get it right but that's not all the time.

I don't think they will bid for him. Because he is not in the mold of Drogba. Lukaku came to Chelsea and had far better Drogba like attributes and reputation but NEVER GOT A CHANCE at Chelsea.

Osimhen is more like Vardy than Drogba to me in his playing style.

Or maybe we should ask, What is a Mourinho type player ❓ Because we seem to all have completely different takes on the same question.

Vardy is a player more suited for kick and rush football... Osimhen is nothing like him...

Na Drogba kind of player abeg..

Listen to what you are saying.

So therefore according to you Leicester are playing kick and rush football. And so are all thier players effectively by your definition.

Well l TOTALLY DISAGREE.

That means that Ndidi arguably one of the best DM midfield players is playing kick and rush.

Vardy is the top goal scorer in the EPL that's not an easy feat by any standard. And you ascribe it to kick and rush.

Osimhen is not a technically adapt player, he doesn't thrive on skill to beat his man but speed, he is very aggressive but not physical his number one attribute is PACE and POSITIONING.

Drogba used skill, dominance with physicality and extremely good finishing both feet and total air dominance. He didn't really use PACE.

So how is Osimhen like Drogba

Vardy always plays with the ball in front, through balks and balls behind the defence using pace and positioning very similar to Osimhen to gain the advantage.

My number one player in the SE.

It's an indictment on Nigerian fans that he retired way too early the abuse and denigration was just too much.

I even witnessed a lot of it here.

He is not starting and he shouldn't be warming the bench. If in his level of fitness he cannot give the starters real competition, he shouldn't be there. Mind you I have praised Musa in the days when he put up good performances leading to the WC. We have to just say things as it is.

Musa would always get the invitation advantage courtesy of his being the captain coupled with the fact that he equally represent the Northern quota in the SE.

Same thing with JAMILU COLLINS AND SHEHU ABDULLAHI as well

Ultimately, The target for him would be breaking the all time SE appearances of 101 jointly held by YOBO and ENYEAMA at the moment

Onomah balling for Fulham!!!!

That's SHOCKING.

He has not been impressive so far in the season struggling to get on the bench and get minutes.

As it stands Ovie and Eze are ahead of him as it stands now.

I had high hopes for Tega Onomah but alas he's not been able to rise to the occasion.

EX-NIGERIA GOALKEEPER IKEME open to Wolverhampton Wanderers return

The 33-year-old is looking to make a comeback for Wolves after overcoming a life-threatening disease

Former Nigeria international Carl Ikeme has revealed his desire to return to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a coaching or mentoring capacity.

The goalkeeper, who spent his entire career with Wolves since joining the side at the age of 14, was forced to an early retirement last year due to his battle with leukaemia.

However, after intense treatment, the ex-Super Eagles star was told he is in ‘complete remission’ from the disease and has spoken of his desire to return to his childhood club soon.

“With football, last year, it was not something I envisioned going back into. Now this year, slowly, the taste is coming back,” he told Express and Star.

“It’s not fully there yet, I’m not too sure, but maybe, eventually, I’d like to be involved at some level. I don’t know if it would be full-on or full-time, but I’d like to do something around the club.

“The club have always been brilliant with me and said the door is open when I’m ready to come back. Everything is settled in my life at the minute, and I’m not quite ready to make a decision.

"When I decide I want to do it, I want to be able to do it to my fullest. Maybe in the near future, maybe into the next year, possibly. I’d like to be involved with the club. I think I could help in any sort of way.”

Ikeme made 191 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers and featured 10 times for the Super Eagles before his retirement.

He honestly has the attributes of both players. Osimhen runs in behind more than Didier did in his chelsea days(tbh he had to change his style of play when he joined Chelsea). He links up play and dominates CBs like Didier.
Whether he can get to the level of both strikers remains to be seen.

Nigeria begin search for new national team coaches

opera.com

Nov 30, 2019 7:44 AM

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will turn its attention to appointing a fresh coaching team to fill various positions in the national teams.

Expired contracts, poor results and failures to qualify for major championships in 2020 have led to the NFF not offering new deals to coaches across all level, apart from Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr.

Nigeria's under-17 and under-20s suffered round of 16 exits at this year's World Cup, the team of locally-based players failed to qualify for the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN), while both the men's and women's teams failed to reach the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games football tournaments.

"The position of the head coach for various national teams are now vacant, both for the men and women teams, apart from the Super Eagles," NFF’s Technical Director Bitrus Bewarang confirmed.

"The plan is for competent and qualified persons to apply for these positions.

"I know we have not done well in the competitions we entered for this year, but I assure you that very soon things will change."

Available posts includes the national Under-17, U20s, U23s, the Super Eagles B side, the women’s senior national team, U17, U20 as well as the beach soccer team which exit the 2019 World Cup in the group stage.

"It's important to note that these coaches were not sacked but their contracts expired and was not renewed," Bewarang added.

"It is normal to appoint national team coaches because very soon the qualifiers will start for both Caf and Fifa competitions.

"Mostly all the junior national teams will be involved so we must start the process of engaging new coaches as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, coach Gernot Rohr has been warned by the NFF about 'several breaches of the contract' he signed with the body.

The NFF said it is unhappy about his violation of the contracts which prohibits him from making public comments about his job and unpaid salary.

"According to the provisions of my current contract with Nigeria, I am free, from January 1st 2020, to enter into a pre-contract agreement with any club or national team, to start work with them on the first of July 2020. That is my right," Rohr told Insideworldfootball last week.

"After the AFCON in Egypt, I was approached by some national teams but I made it clear that I was still under contract with Nigeria and was happy to continue with my work here.

"I will wait for my conversation with the President of the Nigeria Football Federation in January, when he says that we shall arrange a time to sit down and talk. We shall see what happens."

The 66-year-old German, whose contract with the NFF expires in June 2020, has had late salary payments since he took charge of the Super Eagles in August 2016.

"In as much as we appreciate the work that Mr. Rohr has been doing with the Super Eagles in the past 40 months, his recent penchant for breaching provisions of the contract he signed with the NFF and the Code of Conduct for coaches is not good for the relationship." Bewarang was quoted by the NFF website.

Bewarang added that "Clause N of the Code of Conduct for coaches, which states that “coaches must not by their actions or inaction cause NFF or the Federal Government of Nigeria any harm, reputational damage or embarrassment, nor do anything directly or indirectly to undermine their contract with the NFF."

In addition, Clause E of the same code says that "coaches must not misrepresent the NFF or distort information to the media. They are precluded from imparting unauthorised information to the media."

A cross section of West Bromwich Albion fans has rated Semilogo Ajayi as one of the best signing ever by the club.

The towering defender joined ‘The Baggies’ this summer from Rotherham United and has established himself as a key part of club.

The former Arsenal player is rated alongside Youssouf Mulumbu, who was signed in 2009 January transfer window from PSG.

Mulumbu became a crucial part of ‘The Baggies’ for his six full seasons at the Hawthorns, being integral to West Brom’s promotion from the Championship in the 2009/10 season and helping them establish themselves in the top flight.

A Baggie fan, Dan, with twitter handle @ItsYouDanDanwba: “GMAC up till this season but have to say Ajayi is a steal at 1.5 mil.”

Another fan, Theo, with Twitter handle @TKPwba tweeted: “Could be Sawyer or Ajayi in few years.”

The 26-year-old defender, who also plays as a midfielder, has played 18 games with two goals this season.

He has played for Arsenal, Charlton Athletic, Dartford, Cardiff City, AFC Wimbledon, Crewe Alexandra and Rotherham United.

Brow Ideye and Osaze Odemwingie as well as Nwankwo Kanu are the other Nigerians who have played for ‘The Baggies’.

The former Everton player, who played on loan at Galatasaray last season, joined Monaco in the summer but he is yet to hit it big at the French Ligue 1 club.

Onyekuru will earn 1.5 million Euros, while Monaco will earn 2.5 million Euros for this deal.

He scored 16 goals last season for Galatasaray to do the double – league and cup triumphs.

He joined Monaco from Everton for a fee of 15 million Euros in the summer.
