If u like flash it or reset it to its factory settings a million times, they will still track the phone because the IMEI does not change.
The only way it cannot be tracked is if the phone is ROOTED follows through a MKT Process, only till then can it not be tracked.

Was your money refunded after the police help you track t he phone?

For my case, I bought a phone and receipt was issue to me. I sent it to ibadan but the phone was stolen on the way. It's Xiaomi redmi note. I don't have the pack as the phone was stolen new. Can the police help me out. I still have the receipt

Sorry bro, you can't use the receipt. You device is prolly gone since you don't have do pack or IMEI number.

The thieve sadly reset the phone to factory resitting ... Sadly I lost my pix from 2016 till date.

I can still see the backup from Google cloud but can't recover it.

U sud stop confusing ursef too, how can an Snapdragon phone be rooted tru a mtk process, I dnt think anything of such exists.
Even an mtk device which it imei has been changed can still be tracked.

those are transsion device, so u can even change their screen ID if anything like exist

You didn't answer the question; Did the police returned your money after the fone was stolen?
Simple YES or No

Either you change IMEI or not once he/she resets the phone it goes back to the original besides the more efficient way used in tracking a mobile device or computer is the MAC address and that you cannot change.
For those of you asking if the police gave him back his money or not what answer are you expecting sef.
