It was alleged the residents didn't want light there, they switched off all lights for security reasons because the place was deserted and prone to robbers.
So, they switched off all lights so robbers won't know there are residents there. I knew someone living there.

Very nice... hopefully it will still be working in 6 months, and not succumb to the Nigerian factors of no budget to replace bulbs (which die), vandalism, or lack of electricity.

See what they reduce some naive youths to
We celebrate street lights

I swear the day they will build and underground train, some gullible youths go blow trumpet

Nice!!! Let's hope he keeps up the tempo.

Gov. Makinde has been in the news for good things recently.

Check our blog to see the 100 Police Cars he bought.

Yahaya Bello should learn from him.

We are for development, not party, religious or tribal sentiments. cool

We're talking of street lights, you're talking of residents in the area.

So robbers won't know that there are people living in an area without streetlights? Na wa o

Hope ogun state government is watching. Ijebu ode, ijebu igbo and sagamu is nothing to write home about wen it comes to electricity. Sagamu is worse. Places like Gra, ewuoliwo, ajaka, u need a generator for your bulbs and TV to function. Filling stations sells more petrol to generator users than vehicle here in sagamu. And ogun state collect more tax than Ibadan. The only thing they can boast of here in sagamu is Anthony Joshua.

Makinde's media team are fools for this.. cursed sycophants (God save us in this media 4 years oo)

Toll gate that he said he is lighting up is on Lagos Ibadan express way a federal road... while its true the road is indeed without fully functional streetlight but saying toll gate had being in darkness (same place i schooled {Leadcty University} ) is in darkness for 20 years is a big lie

Puting Streetlights in places where Ajimobi's street light and CCTV hadnt reached (federal roads) is comendable, but saying the place had being in darkness for 20 years is a lie even people using that part of Lagos expresway can attest to this

Now that we have another Media loving Governor in Oyo State like they used to have in Ekiti with Fayose we should seat tight for all drama

the guy and his media team seem to want to score cheap points.. previous governors dont even handle street lights LGA chairmen handles that.. putting street light on a federal road that is still under custruction is cool, but it is what the federal goevernment would still bulldoz and intsall theirs.. and for the record the place isnt in darkness for 20 years as qouted, i graduated in leadcity there in 2012 and we werent in darkness
