The level of corruption in NNPC and CBN wouldn't let them key into IPPIS. The DG of NNPC could even be collecting salaries of 150 ghost/non-existent workers into his account. They must be made to key into IPPIS, it is Nigeria's money they are swallowing. I previously condemned ASUU's stand for rejecting IPPIS but for this flimsy excuse I'll have to stand with ASUU. If you want to fight corruption, fight it holistically. You can't be protecting NNPC and CBN because your relatives and children are getting jumbo pays from there while you threaten Professors and lecturers with IPPIS. No! Every government parastatal must come on board, revenue-generating or not! 8 Likes |

jacquincy: IPPIS is not a scam. It is the selective implementation that should be questioned and corrected. The reason given for not including CBN, NNPC and FIRS is not valid. A business entity does not consist only of marketers or sales people. Everyone is important. To make a rule that sales people pay themselves from sales because they generate revenue and should not be subject to general company payroll is very bad and selective business policy! 6 Likes |

TGM2015:are you saying FIRS, NNPC and CBN workers are more Superior or more relevant than ASUU? Not all Agencies and ministry will be generate revenue. For example, are you saying the Nigeria Army are not important or they are not working? All Federal government workers suppose to enroll with IPPIS 3 Likes 1 Share |

[s] PatrickOkunima:[/s] Olodo. Person correct you, you still dey yarn dust. CBN recently debited 500 billion Naira from the accounts of about 10 banks domiciled with it for breaching CBN-approved loan policies and directives. How you think CBN is not a revenue-generating organization befuddles me. 6 Likes 1 Share |

MoIbrahim:I trying to tell me that NNPC, CBN, FIRS, etc are employees? The last I know about them is that they Parastatals establish to make profit. So they are enterprises with all features and characteristics of Corporate Entity. Universities establish by government are not established to make profit, lecturers are part of the employees of the University. In summary, ASUU are Part of the employees of a non-profit making government establishment while NNPC, FIRS, CBN, etc are employer of labour and are run as a profit making organisation. If ASUU want what is applicable to these organisations we are mentioned, they should proved their intellectual worth by transforming all universities as a self sufficient institution. 2 Likes |

All the agencies where children of the elite are normally employed are not included in IPPIS, because they don't want to expose the kind of allowances they receive. That's the scam 2 Likes |

Thegoodone13:The difference is revenue generating agencies and core aim of making profit. FIRS, NNPC, CBN are revenue generating agencies and we're established for the purpose of making profit. Hence, they are mandated to remmit profit. Public Universities (ASUU), Army, Navy, Police, Hospitals, etc are public services institutions/agencies established with the sole aim of providing public services. They are expected NOT to make PROFIT, hence they do remit to the government. |
