Why am I not excited with this Dessers news?. I pity the guy sha. He is a very good striker, but then OSIMHEN......

You need to be exicted, osimhen is not untouchable , i need players who will work hard to send him to the bench but unfortunately none can do that for long, but dessers issa big threat trust me

If this guy continues scoring and end up with 20 goals in the league, expect to see him in a bigger team in the league like psv or ajax or a better league

If iheanacho is having game time and scoring goals you think say we go dey reason osimhen as untouchable

furthermore, Ighalo came to the team, when he was 26 and with his short time, even with competition like a younger, inform Iheanacho, he still hit double digit figures in goals.

Osimhen will not always be firing on all cylinders, and Rohr may even choose to play two strikers up top in a 3-5-2 formation, so Dessers will not be particularly disadvantaged

Good point from you

And there is nothing wrong in Dessers benching osimhen if needed

Balderdash, Cyril Dessers is the highest performing 'Belgian' striker at the moment

He would walk into the team on merit but he rejected it for where his heart was

Or are you saying the Dutch league is not rated?

He would not walk into any belgium team

Make we dey talk truth at times abeg

Finally, look at the Belguim national team the vast majority of thier players do not play in Belgium.

Agreed

Na because say the guy wan play for us make am talk say e go work into the belgium team

But if to say the guy no wan play for us he will say other wise which is the truth

What are you saying?

Dessers wont make the belgium team ahead of those guys bro, weda they are starters or not, even benteke will make the team ahead of him, abi no be martinez be the coach again?

Scoring goals is scoring goals.

This is how Ighalo was being degraded by fans because he was playing in China and scoring there, only for him to have his best form for Nigeria in the Chinese league.

Based on league status, you will claim that Haaland scoring goals in Austria makes him inferior to Origi and Batshuayi too, abi?

Correct argument

This point is moot. What is Batshauyi doing that makes him better than Dessers on current form?

Someone that is making senior team appearance at age 18 so what does that person need age grade teams for?

You make no point.

When Fikayo Tomori played a very limited game at Brighton and Hove and Hull. I said categorically that he was not good enough. Why because in that set up he couldn't play good quality technical football.

He goes to Derby with Lampard and he excels beyond all expectation. He is now a first team player for Chelsea and an England international. That's supersonic PROGRESS nobody could have predicted that.

I changed nothing. In Rotherham he played kick rush in kick and follow team. I wasn't impressed there was nothing to be impressed about. He had no previous pedigree. He was the outstanding player in that kick and rush team.

Prior to Rotherham he had been a journey man in the lower league that typically play long ball and kick and rush. He was not outstanding.

It seems looking at it now that playing for Nigeria gave his career a boost and brought much needed recognition to him. Not surprisingly he is in West Bromwich. They must have looked at him playing for Nigeria not just hoofing heading the ball in Rotherham.

U are the one who is not making no point, uv bn running from pillar to post bkus I am using ur own words against you.

Here are the three claims u have made;

✓ He did well at Rotherdam bkus it was kick and rush

✓ He is doing well now at West Brom bkus he has good experienced players around him

✓ Now from ur last paragraph, u seem to imply that he is being played(recognized) and doing well because he is now a Nigerian international, rather than his abilities.

Rigmarole no more, just make a point. Here is the question again; Why has Ajayi excelled from Rotherdam to Westbrom?

Dessers has 15 goal contributions this season, Origi has three

Statistically Dessers is the highest performing Belgian striker behind Lukaku and the Dutch league is not far away from the Italian league

Modified : The Dutch league is better than the Italian league in the current Uefa coefficient

I was thinking the voting should be done in a new thread just like the previous years. It makes it easy to assess both for the committee members and new members who might want to see how the process went.

It will be easier to direct people to the new thread for the awards than this.

My 2cents though.

Which one is more impressive, scoring 11 goals with Heracles or Ajax?

Ajax is a bigger club broda so it’s ajax

Modified

And mind you ,what I meant is that if he had gotten those goals while playing for Ajax then I can agree with you that he can make the Belgium team

But on the other note scoring 11 goals for Heracles is more impressive ,BT that’s not what I am trying to say

My point is that he cannot make the Belgium team while playing for Heracles

This is the hard truth most of you guys won’t admit but if this same guy had chosen to play for Belgium I am very sure of how almost all of you will come here and say he will not make the team ,he will be used and dumped

I know how many of you are still pained about Tammy and are even wishing him bad

You might not be one of them

But people wey dey here and double standard Na 5 and 6

Nah, not when he is in the same league that has Ajax. It's more impressive scoring 11 with Heracles than with Ajax.

National team didnt help him, you guys should change this mentality

Maybe now if better club buy dessers after super eagles cap am una go say na super eagles help am

smh
But you read Okoye saying that after his SE debut against Brazil, other teams are interested in him.

Don't be dismissive of national team form. Okocha became the highest paid African player as a result of his sterling performance for Nigeria at France 98

when Onyekuru was scoring goals with that bottom feed team with a forgettable name in Spain, he was getting accolades, so, is it not impressive that Dessers is scoring goals with a team with a forgettable name in a league with Ajax and Eindhoven?

It is this same league that United got Depay from once upon a time, una no just want gree for this Dessers matter.
