Death sentence is an overreach but there should be punitive measures for people who peddle falsehoods using the instrumentality of social media just as the maximum penality should apply to those who loot our collective wealth.

How can people come out and claim to be impregnated by someone who they never met; Davido's case comes to mind here.

I think we already have laws addressing libel?

Modifying or enforcing those won't be a bad idea.

Does he truly understand the contents of the social media bill? It runs contrary to the word of God. How do we accept killing of a fake news carrier but do plea bargaining for those who instituted poverty and death in people’s lives through the looting of our commonwealth?
