A Financial Times report recently revealed the full extent of Ronaldo's financial power by finding that the club's product and licensing revenue increased by €16m after he joined.

Juventus signed 520,000 shirts in the 24 hours that followed the announcement of his arrival, while his social media influence has also seen the club's Instagram following skyrocket from 10m to 34.4m.

Ronaldo's signing was always therefore going to be more about just his performances on the field, but taking his footballing displays in isolation this season - something does seem wrong.

A playmaker is usually the most calculating, visionary and technically gifted person in a team.....a rm or rw or lm or lw is usually those that are physical in nature....good strength and speed. The playmaker usually sitting in the middle is the brainbox of his/her team.

The truth is; it's not as if the future or beauty of football is fading, rather it is because Messi and Ronaldo have done much more than any ordinary player would do. They have dominated the football world and made some of the seeming impossibilities very possible and as such, even in their state of decline, no other player comes close. To me, I think the case of natural talent and hard work buildup is what is missing and needs to rejuvenated.
