Life opportunites are not the same.
In honour of this wonderful thread, I'll plant you a story.

It was last term, Ketu-Obanikoro-Ketu walking 3-4 times to school had been the week, so buda was always late and tired and the only fifth former in skirts which Ma, nurse, had sown by a carpenter so one end was longer than the other and May-June WAEC was about to start and buda's fake Cortinas, Bambis by bata, had the front cut off because buda's toes were too long.

The way buda saw it was, English A1. It was buda's born with manna from heaven that Mrs Adeyemi kicked buda out of class for because she couldn't believe buda who for years had drilled "go and write an essay on...."; "Its unreadable, rewrite it"; "Where's the plan you followed to write it? Go plan and write it again!", could write with such meaning. Maths, A1. "Maths page 211-220" with like 50 equations to solve, after essay drill. Physics, perhaps C, buda hoped, and maybe Economics, but everything else would be F9, and without school, buda was nothing unless buda grafted big time.

The plan was, get 4-5 at May-June, the rest Nov-Dec GCE, then see where go from there or die. Except buda kinda had no textbooks for May-June by fact was to study the 'better' books of 10 years before buda born Manchester Uni Nigerian Army Signals Engineer who part cared for buda and you might get the absurdity of 'better' as if Nelkon wasn't bad enough for buda who would rather study History. And there was the little case of ₦15 to get the Nov-Dec form then ₦10 Naira per subject, I think it was.

So buda walked from school to an uncle at Oshodi to beg but uncle wasn't in, 'they said': should have gotten the message, buda walked home to Ketu and back the next day and uncle told buda to get lost and buda walked to Ketu and ended up in - 'ended up', so you understand buda did not cause clash with primary carers - still, buda spent the night learning "Don mess with soja" in jail" for the night.

True. "Life opportunities are not the same". Life being the sort that is handed to most of us as lemons, we must in fact go and grab opportunities for ourselves, at least, sometimes, is what I have found. One's opportunities haven't after all fallen down on one from heaven so one must create one's opportunities oneself, is at least how I have decided it should be for me. Just see here as I've taken immense advantage of the opportunity given me to step so far back into my past for which, thank you.

Sorry derailing your thread op.

Oh boy, see as fear catch me!.

If the stolen passport holder reports to the Police n go to the nigerian embassy, what eventually happens?

Nothing, it's best you start hiding or also find a means to legalize yourself cos u will become a prey for the cops on prowl for illegal immigrants. Best is guard your documents jealously.

God why this low mentality in this generation shocked

Stop embarrassing people, how much you’ve been able to gather yourself Mr. High Mentality? Since you are a high mentality person but have not been able to raise 1.4M yourself then your advice shouldn’t be taken serious. He has 2 kids and wife, presently he’s not working and according to his story, he doesn’t need a new job or business at the moment. All he needs is changing of environment because of his life and that of his family. You don’t know who’s who here, try and respect people’s opinion even if it differ from yours. In Dubai Pentecostal Churches must have Limited liability company after their names

for example

Christ embassy LLC

it's funny but it's true

only Anglican , Catholic , Orthodox is allowed to use church after their names , all Pentecostal is a company. and u can't build anything as in worship place , u go hotel and u don't make noise , if not they will end the service mid way or all man face arrest

But at least you can buy a one way ticket and self deport. From what I read on this thread, you can’t self deport in the UAE, you will be thrown in jail because you’re owing fines from your overstay. If that’s true, that’s crazy!

Why crazy? You wan leave free after your visa don expire, then kawa come back in the name of self deportation.

Oga, dem go catch you throw inside jail ho ha!!!

Pls I need ur help be4 I do something that I will regret.
Thanks [1quote author=NONNYG post=84768223] Many Americans and Europeans are moving to UAE to work because they make more money here than back home. Here there's no income tax and so many benefits like health insurance, house allowance, paid tickets, phone bill allowance, children school fees, car allowance or free company transportation etc

One funny thing about UAE is that your passport sometimes determines your pay

A Nigerian passport holder and American passport will be doing same job but will be getting different salary
it a lot, I have a friend working there and give job too for 500k it legit ooooo. You can do waiter or work in mall I think they pay between 200 to 250k a month.

Many years of been subjected to primitive ideas sometimes holds one hostage mentally. The Nigerian system is no different from brainwashing. At that point, making judicious use of the money with him may not occur to him. but will want to go out by all means.

700k as in Seven hundred thousand naira only for a DL?

30mins break for 12hrs job is too small..

Here for 8/10hrs jobs at factories, You get 2 15mins break and a lunch break of 30mins..

For other menial jobs(excluding factories), You get breaks and 1hr lunch.

For 12hrs factory jobs, you get 3 15mins break and 30mins lunch..

How much does an average person save monthly on an a average job in UAE?

I heard people snatch passports and use it to travel home? Wont immigration detect them OR Africans look alike to UAE people too?

Can you be working at the same time schooling as to move up in career?

Thanks

post=84747876]So I've been in the UAE for all of two years and boy has it been venturesome and hygge?

I've always wanted to write about my struggles in this seducing desert city but just never found the time.

'UAE' is a proper noun but I can't help myself, cry its always 'the UAE' to me.

I'll be taking y'all through steps on how i got here, how I got a means of livelihood, the stress and joy that comes with the job and all that.

Stay tuned.
