Bro just here for survey to know the regulated HP payment terms to feedback my company and I’m not the only staff doing survey, this thread is basically for Uber drivers so a lot of people here already have cars they are driving so i know interest will be low here, do you think it’s easy to buy a 2M tokunbo car and give it out on 2.5M HP, a lot of people are out there looking for this offer so I’m not here to look for drivers, in fact we already have over 50 potential drivers trying to have a grab, and Iv even gotten more than 20 calls from interested people who read my post on this thread
Boss, your 250k too much for down payment. If I have that kind of money I will save and go into rental. When the money completes 1.5m, I will my own car...

@1daboi, are you interested?
I'm calling it quit December 31st by God's grace.
Its like one need a special kind of training to drive in Lagos : from LASTMA's trap to a girl stealing my money in my car arm rest to FRSC sitbelt fine.
Nna, i am tired, i cannot come and kill myself.
In between there's something i have observed within 3 months of my Ehailing journey : there are good days you'll get tired of accepting requests. I mean using a 3400 naira fuel to gross 18k like i did yesterday and there were days, that amount of fuel won't gross 10k, you'll just chin up and take it as one of those days.
I think I'll write a book soon titled 'The Perils of driving in Lagos ' grin
Dem don show me pepper for this work. grin

grin grin boss abeg no make me laff, I don't think sorry can soften ur heart at dis point. How much did she steal? I tot I share my sitbelt experience, so we all can pick one or few things from it. I wish we can talk on some spiritual reasoning, cos if a car owner like u is feeling dis way, I wonder wot someone on rental will do. Las las, dis experience is life, u can't b wise/sound without trying times.

@bold it is not only in Lagos my brother, it is a general thing, but I agree Lagos own is worse. It is only in Nigeria u will not see No parking sign & touts will jump out from no where claiming wrong parking and demanding fine. So much lawlessness, everyone is just after money, no prior warnings, In civilize countries, often times when u park wrongly u will be asked to move, but in Nigeria money must leave u, quite unfortunate.

I tell you bro!
Lagos is a very transactional city.

You have a point bro.
I don't think my destiny is cut out for this hustle anymore.
The seatbelt issue is beyond me as i do not have words for it : because i made sure the lady strapped the belt before we left Magodo and midway through our journey, she complained of stomach upset and asked if i could pull over and help her adjust her seat, which i did, she even made mockery of me, trying to sneak in between her Legs. grin I guess it was that discomfort that made her loosed it, hoping to put it back before she fell asleep and I didn't notice because i was so fixated on my phone, trying to hide it from FRSC (Google map offence).
She tried to make a case for herself when my car was flagged down but those FRSC officials were not having any of her pleas, i was just looking like a zombie devoid of what to say.
Regarding the petty thief that stole my 5400 naira from the car arm rest, she must have seen the wads of cash when i opened the armrest for her to make use of the car charger. So, when my car battery misfired and i pulled over to fix it, she stole the money and i had no premonition it happened until the next rider asked for 100 naira to buy bottled water , that was when i knew i have been robbed.

Did you really read my post, HP of tokunbo car valued at 1.9M going for 2.5M HP, do you want to use 2 years to complete the HP, do your calculation that’s just 30% Interest, now imagine getting 30% interest in 2 years the company will run into massive loss, well a lot of people are ready to pay the downpayment and it’s not certain they will get the car, life is not so easy as if we are doing car gifting or sort of donation

I understand boss, but I'm yet to see anything above human here. Do you remember d argument about driver not trusting riders here? At no point r u meant to trust any rider, the moment u finish checking on ur battery, u would have acted like u need to take sometin from d armrest, jst to check if ur money is still breathing. I put money in my car holder and my eyes don't move an inch away from dia, even if I have to open d booth for rider to take his/her belongings, I'll still find a way to check if my chopped off footwear is still dia. About the road safety, I hope d woman was kind enough to part with something? All these r nothing beyond human, u just have to b careful and prayerful at d same time. For me now, once anybody enters d car, sitbelt is d song I play to dia ear, some will even sit at d back and still belt (inside my mind, better! u must have lived in a sane society, sha use back sitbelt suffocate urself lyk dat). It is well boss, be strong, better dayz ahead.

My car blows alarm whenever any front seater, be it driver or passenger removes their seat belt so I can hardly get caught unaware.

Please, who pays for toll on Ocar. I argued with my last riders on who should pay. I told them they were supposed to pay since its Ocar but they said that the previous two drivers paid for it.

I want to know if they've integrated toll on Ocar

Exactly my question, I thought drivers use to show the fare displayed to the rider?

If bolt gave him a discount of 900 for using card payment, how come they still debited his account of the complete N2700? Something is not right.

Like I told someone earlier that paying the toll because you have a bonus doesn't sound right, the riders will believe it is the right thing.
People that went for their training must have been told. I didn't go for the training but I observed my earnings to know if toll was added. I will call you ahead to inform you that you will be paying for toll and a high number of them already know they have to pay.

I have never paid for toll on Ocar even when the bonus was on. They told us at the training center that we should collect it from riders because it's not taken note in their app yet.

I will see a request with an estimated fare of 1100 for example, I will pay 300 for toll and the trip will still end at +-1100

They'll still remove their commission. How much will I have left, when their is no longer bonus.

I think Bolt has the best price than all

I remember how I raised the issue of not leaving riders in your car for any reason just a week ago and some people here thought I was a mad man. Well, so sorry for what happened. But some folks here think they know it all. When we were growing up, we were thought never to trust strangers.

Sh*ts happen in this business, it's up to us to prevent the ones we can. As for me, I hold my stands and will never trust a rider.

I might end up beating a rider one day grin. Let me share my experience yesterday.

So I picked this lady and her friend yesterday night inside Bakare Estate, when I accepted her request I called her to tell her I was outside because I was parked just where she booked from, asked her where her destination is but she ended the call, I sensed trouble. I waited 5 minutes to call her again to come out and also confirm destination as I have no intention of going out of Island or go anywhere near Ikate at that time.

When she came with her friend they entered the car and I asked once again where is your destination before I start trip, she said why am I asking her that, shebi I'm supposed to take her to anywhere she's going.

I told her its past 8pm, there are some areas I dont go to at this time, then said okay I'm going to Banana Island. So I started the trip and I saw that we are just 20mins away from destination, in my mind I said this girl must be joking.

We passed through freedom way to link Admiralty way, just around Davida Mall, map said you have arrived, I looked back and told her we've arrived. Na there arguement start.

She said "does this place look like Banana Island to you".. haa to slap you right now just they hungry me. I told her her babe this is the destination you have in your order, and here we are, if truly you are going to Banana Island you would have put the correct location, so you can update the trip or I end this one and you order for another ride.

She said I'm not been professional, because I told her I thought she's been sarcastic when she said she's going to banana Island and all I could see is Admiralty way.

This is someone who was feeling reluctant to tell me her destination and you expect me to tell you map is showing Admiralty way? Not my business.

Told her to update, and she couldn't do that just because she doesn't know how to but was forming posh and speaking grammar, I just engaged her properly, clear am say if she's not updating to her preferred destination I'm ending the trip, this time we are already getting close to Ikoyi Link bridge, she now said she's not going to pay me that I would have to go to Bolt office to collect my money.
I just parked, look to the back and said babe do I look like a joke to you? If I end this trip here and you fail to pay me, I am driving you down to the nearest police station.

All the while her friend didn't utter a word, when she heard police station, she said calm down, can you update the trip from your end, I said yes, she said pls do. I updated and proceeded to Banana Island.

So I noticed that she's never been there before, a guy invited her and she's going with her friend and babe was lieing to her boyfriend that she just closed from work and going home.

The big question still remains why do we encounter such riders MAJORLY on bolt/taxify.
