I remember how I raised the issue of not leaving riders in your car for any reason just a week ago and some people here thought I was a mad man. Well, so sorry for what happened. But some folks here think they know it all. When we were growing up, we were thought never to trust strangers.

Sh*ts happen in this business, it's up to us to prevent the ones we can. As for me, I hold my stands and will never trust a rider.
Not trusting riders doesn't mean you tell them to step out everything you need to make a stop.

Anytime the cash in my armrest safe is above 2k, I put it in my pocket or use the glovebox and lock it, it's very simple.

A lady I picked yesterday upon entering into my car asked if I have cash, I said NO meanwhile I have close to 8k cash on me, there's no way I'm giving you except I find you responsible and I need to let go of the excess thereby you transfer to my account, I confirm the money in my account before I hand over cash to you.
I no come play for this hustle.

@1daboi, are you interested?
I'm calling it quit December 31st by God's grace.
Its like one need a special kind of training to drive in Lagos : from LASTMA's trap to a girl stealing my money in my car arm rest to FRSC sitbelt fine.
Nna, i am tired, i cannot come and kill myself.
In between there's something i have observed within 3 months of my Ehailing journey : there are good days you'll get tired of accepting requests. I mean using a 3400 naira fuel to gross 18k like i did yesterday and there were days, that amount of fuel won't gross 10k, you'll just chin up and take it as one of those days.
I think I'll write a book soon titled 'The Perils of driving in Lagos ' grin
Dem don show me pepper for this work. grin
Defo want to hang my booths too. But if I'm doing this next year, I'll definitely have a coded camera in my car, an audio recorder as well. Planning a documentary on it, possibly a movie. The drama can sure be a blockbuster.

If bolt gave him a discount of 900 for using card payment, how come they still debited his account of the complete N2700? Something is not right.

Read carefully
He had a discount of 900
Trip was a card trip
Fare of the trip was 2700, which he transfered to the driver.
Bolt debited him 1800 for the trip
And he transferred 2700 to the driver now he need a refund of 2700 back from the driver

It's not only riders that are dubious even some drivers are

I booked a ride on bolt from back of United estate at alagbole ,that's the estate that has it's entrance at the end of the new bridge on Nov 10th.I just added my card before the trip and was given 900 naira discount .
The trip ended and the driver told me it's 2700naira. I did a transfer of 2700 naria to the driver the account he drop is Adedeji olatunji Ibrahim .union bank account ...... about 2 mins after the driver left I remembered it's was a card trip and boost had charge me 1800 naira. I called the driver and he claimed it's a cash trip on his app.

I told him that is a lie that it's a card trip and he should refund the 2700 I transferred to him ,I sent him my account details and since then he refused to pick my calls and he picks if I use a different phone number.

His phone number 09014498140. Name on app Gabriel.

Note that the driver is not the same person in the picture on the app. The drive lives in that estate

Read carefully for those that is not understanding

You cannot possibly have time to hide everything in your car in your pocket. I go to work, it's my personal car, I carry official stuffs, documents, personal stuffs too that I may need for errands. I can't possibly stuff everything in my pocket. I repeat, you will get out of my car if I deem it necessary. That's me. But you can afford to be leaving riders in your car, it's on you bro. Do not question why I have to and I won't question why you have to leave riders in your car. It's on you. But don't come and cry when you get robbed or things go wrong.

Of course its your car bro and you can do whatever you feel with it.

For the sake of arguement, you claim to have some personal and official stuff in your car, I expected that since you are using the car for E-hailing you are to reduce the amount of personal stuff you carry around. A portable laptop bag would have been better to put in all documents and stuffs you want to carry around and leave it in your trunk.

If I am your rider and you tell me to come down because you need to open your booth for security operatives or the likes, we will have problem. tongue

If he had N900 promo, how come 2700 was displayed instead of 1800 or didn't he look at the driver's or his own app before paying. I think the rider was too much in a hurry or is a compulsive and not well collected guy. No wonder the number supplied was wrong too. My 50 cents

This is not you o wink

Since it is card payment on Bolt, the full amount displays on driver's phone but with 'Bolt payment do not accept cash'. So #2,700 was displayed but I guess he didn't check for him to be reminded he was not supposed to pay the driver directly since it was a card trip

WHY DOES YOUR CAR NEED MYMOTO TRACKER

(1) Security: While anti-theft systems like push-buttons before car start, gear lock, pedal locks etc… are good, ONLY A TRACKING SYSTEM LIKE OURS ALLOWS YOU TO RECOVER (AND ALSO PROTECT) YOUR VEHICLE IF YOUR CAR IS HIJACKED FROM YOU WHILE DRIVING. Our trackers are both anti-theft and recovery in nature. e.g. You should shutdown your car before you sleep at night or park in a public space. Whenever you need to start the car, you enable it also.

(2) Remote Monitoring: GPS Security trackers allows you to monitor your vehicle location remotely from your phone. You are able to view your car’s location in real time (from our IOS/ANDROID APPS).

(3) Vehicle History: Through our online platform (IOS/ANDROID APPS) , you can view where your car had been between DAY X and DAY Y. A plot is shown on a map showing your car’s movement over this period of time.

(4) Remotely Stop Your Car: With our security GPS tracker, you are able to stop your car from ANY PHONE with an sms command. This function can also be carried out through our online platforms.

(5) Geo-Fencing Alarm:If your car goes beyond set a radius (or multi-point), say Lagos, you will be notified by sms.

(6) Other alarms (Over-speed Alarm, Ignition On Alarm, Low Battery Alarm ): Over-speed alarms notifies you via sms when your car goes beyond a particular speed. Ignition on notifies you WHENEVER your car is started. Low Battery Alarm lets you know when your car battery is low.

(7) Daily Mileage report (online platform): Daily mileage report shows you a daily chart (in KM) of your car.

We have heard of one or two expereience of how clients were able to recover their vehicles BECAUSE THEY HAD A TRACKER INSTALLED IN IT. We will be sharing some of them with you based on TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCES.

If you have had personal experiences also, kindly share with us.

WE STILL INSTALL THE MOST AFFORDABLE TRACKERS AROUND STARTING FROM 25K (VARIES WITH CAR MODEL).

WE ARE THE ONLY COMPANY THAT OFFERS FREE LIFETIME ACCESS TO OUR ONLINE PLATFORMS FOR MONITORING/STOPpING YOUR CAR.

YOU'VE SPENT QUITE MUCH TO ACQUIRE YOUR CAR, SECURE IT WITH A TRACKER. BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY

Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. Unknown to the thieves, the car had a tracker in it. That same night they tracked the vehicle to a military baracks (apparenntly the thieves had accomplices with military connections). They went with the police and they were able to recover the car (THE DEMOBILIZE FUNCTION OF THE TRACKER WAS USED TO ENSURE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE UNTIL THEY GOT TO THAT LOCATION)...

Story 2
Mr Bayo was bout entering his car in the night somewhere in Lagos when he was attacked. He immediately used his phone to demobilize the car some minutes after they had zoomed away with the car. The thieves ran away when they discovered the car wasn't strating again. The car was tracked to Ajah. Apparently the thieves ran away in fear with the keys of the car grin

I thought we've discussed this be4 in the past? I still maintain that asking a rider out of your car is gullible, disrespectful and even unprofessional. If you have any valuable that can't fit into you hand glove box, leave it at home! Don't come and be suspecting all your riders. In fact if I order a ride and you ask me to step out of your car under a hot sun just because you want to check something in your bonnet, please hold a gun as you are asking me out

The big question still remains why do we encounter such riders MAJORLY on bolt/taxify.
The reasons are simple.
Bolt/taxify is so indiscipline and intolerant.
Here are my reasons,
Uber charges when you cancel a request after 5min
Uber charges when driver drivers down and waited for rider after 5min and then cancel
Uber charges for waiting.

These are disciplinary measures put in place for discipline, as long as taxify/bolt don’t put these disciplinary measures in place trust me Bolt riders will keep up with all their sane attitude and misbehavior.

The interesting thing is, an avereage Nigerian prefers such system the bolt is operating on because we like doing things and go scout free since there are no penalties to wrong doings.

Until taxify/bolt fixes these issues we shall keep hearing all and many more of these issues with them

Yep, I agree with u boss just as I've said, I don't get into loggerheads with riders, call or text after cancellation, but dis particular seek attention and I just have to serve her for the sake of next driver. We just have to give them orientation in d best possible way we can... I'll
give u 2 case 1. Today I got a request, she was going to mountain of fire along ibafo, told her I can't due to lack of trip, hoping she will negotiate offline, but she didn't. She try to talk me in with I can drive down to Berger and I'll get trip back to Ikeja grin we both laugh and share that understanding this can't work. 2. Another trip I took and have to relate with the rider was a lady that requested from OMole to BRT park Berger, I didn't ask for destination. I have to make her understand the distance I covered to pick her on a trip of 300 hundred and now I have to use the express as my only exit back to lateef jakande rd. So I think riders and drivers should b able to relate and understand each other well unlike the once that felt they own d driver and can use one as rag if it pleases dem.
Bro you speak sense and with lot of experience in the hustle. For heaven sake, these bolt riders are so annoying, especially the ladies. Do they think Uber/bolt drivers are all illiterate or stupid? I just pray I don’t loose my temper on any one day I honestly will be glad to give one a dirt stupid slap in the face.

I think you put her in her place with your action and I’m sure she will compose herself with the next driver she gets.

Good day Elders in the house,
I've been a silent dedicated follower of this thread for almost a year now, I've finally decided to put my foot down and start this hustle come January.
The restraint I have presently is capital to start, I can only afford a maximum of 600k as starting capital which I've saved up for sometime, and with that I have two open offers of naija used cars

1. Honda Accord (E. O. D) years: 2003 & 2004 between 450 - 600k

2. Kia Cerato 2008 between 450 - 500k

Please advice me on what step to take, as I prefer to be an owner driver or partner.

Please anyone with an offer of cars for sale falling within the price range that is also usable for the hustle, please give me heads up
