Anyone Experiencing Occipital Neuralgia (persistent Headaches) ? by RSS18: 10:52pm On Dec 13, 2019
I’ve been experiencing persistent headaches, neck pain, eye pains, pressure and pain behind the eyes(especially left eye), tingling in the face and pressure in the temple. Basically, it feels like my head is in a vice grip. I was diagnosed by a neurologist as Occipital neuralgia. I was given some medications but it’s not doing much. It basically just takes the edge off but doesn’t take the pains away. I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced something like this and how did they cope ? I’ve been dealing with this for a year now. Everyday is a struggle.

First things first let's put some things in practice. Start with go to sleep early. Turn off your TV set few hours earlier than usual regualry. When in traffic during the day, use those free hours to relax and sleep while transiting. Do this over the next one week and come back and tell me your observations

I have been sleeping very well and in excess lately. In fact, some days I just feel like not waking up because I know I’m waking up to the continuous pain. It doesn’t relent. It is the same every second. Even when I wake in the morning. It doesn’t feel much like a headache. It’s like a weird vice-like grip on my head. I don’t think this is just a case of mere sleep deprivation.

This has been going on for a year. During this time I definitely had long periods of good sleep in between. I took a long break off work and made sure I slept and rested well. Still, not much changed. I’ve changed beds and pillows, still.

At least count yourself lucky you now have a credible diagnosis.
Every headache, body pain or cold in Nigeria to mqny Nigerians, even the ones that claim they are educated is malaria.
When the headache now persists when the pain and cold have resolved,it automatically becomes typhoid.Just to confirm, there is surely one lab there that would either get a 1:160 titre,or if the lab person is not so wicked,he would put a 1:80 and still tell you it's significant for typhoid!
It's in Nigeria someone would take 3 antimalarial drugs within a span of 1month and still believes he/she has malaria and would get at least a + or even ++ malaria parasite result!!
Be patient, take your drugs because many properly diagnosed medical ailments take some time before they either subside or totally resolve.Medical ailments sometimes don't act like surgical cases where u see an immediate improvement after the surgery.
Just saw it's a 2019 thread.
Did you finally get resolution?

Guys I was frustrated for more than 5 years with all the symptoms you guys are talking about. Doctors always diagnose it as typhoid or malaria.

Guess what after my own research (forget about the stupid doctors) I realized I had CELIAC DISEASE. It was my immune system attacking my body as a reaction to any wheat products I consume. I later found that my body is also sensitive to peanuts.
The only solution is to totally remove the culprit food from your diet. Wishing you success.
