The question remain why Dangote? Why can't the federal government make our refineries work? Or is Dangote now bigger than the federal government?

Sir you just ask the same question I was about to ask, A citizen is doing what the Federal government can not do. So Dangote is richer than the whole of Nigeria. God save this country from the hand of leaders who care less about the prosperity and fortune of this nation.

Our government can't run this country.. it's better left for individual to run the economy. It's very clear that we are being deceived over and over again..
Exactly individuals not one
Look at the u.s
Trump,gates,buffet,jobs
Trump aside none of those men are in govt
Even trump had money before govt
It is called capitalism
One clown was shouting adenuga, alakija forgetting that just like dangote they got rich off govt patronage

I beg which RELIABLE public services are you enjoying in Nigeria Good roads, reliable & steady power supply, dependable job & health care agencies, and security services.

Use your fcking brain. Where did I say Nigeria ''enjoys reliable services''? I said it is the ROLE of the private sector, of which YOU are a part of, to provide those services.

STOP TALKING LIKE A DUNCE. You people need to get it out of your THICK SKULLS that the 'GOVERNMENT' is father christmas that is meant to provide everything for you.

A properly functioning economy relies heavily on the private sector and private investors to provide services, while the government's role is to provide regulatory oversight, basic infrastructure etc. This whole idea that everything is down to ''GOVERNMENT'' is what is killing you people. That is why nobody wants to come up with any ideas to do anything. You are all waiting for ''Government''. RIDICULOUS PEOPLE.
STOP REASONING LIKE A DUNCE!!
We're not waiting for government to do everything for us. They said people should embrace farming, we agreed. People started farming, only for the herdsmen to come to the farms to kill the farmers and destroy farms. Even those that are in to buying and selling were not spared, kidnappings everywhere. Which private sector are you talking about? Which basic infrastructure are you talking about, in an environment where safety of lives and property cannot be guaranteed? No steady power supply. Not even a barbershop can operate effectively without power, what more of welders and the likes? Stop sounding RIDICULOUS!!

Dangote's first priority will be how to pay back the loans used to set up the refinery and not how Nigeria will save x amount of billions.
If FG had set up a refinery same time as Dangote started, the refinery would have been operational by now but they would rather place the future of an entire nation to a man that dreams of being the richest man on earth by merely producing sugar, cement etc.

Dude, public enterprises usually run inefficiently and/or at a loss wherever in the world. Why? Because their objectives are political/altruistic as opposed to being profit-driven.

That is why the most successful nations today are those where the PRIVATE SECTOR invests in public services. That is what is now happening in Nigeria so SHUT UP AND STOP MOANING. GO SET UP YOUR PRIVATE ENTERPRISE AND DO SOMETHING.

This Government will never ceased to amaze Nigerians, the last time I checked,Dangote refinery management said they will get crude oil at international market price and also sell its refined products at international market prices and also they will not engage in crude oil swapping for petroleum products.

ABEG GET LOST WITH YOUR EXCUSES. 99% of those in farming have no issues with herdsmen, so STOP LYING AND EXAGGERATING to cover your uselessness. ''Kidnappings everywhere'' indeed. What haven't they kidnapped you or your mother yet, since it's ''everywhere''?

In America thousands are killed every year by gun violence. Has that stopped the private sector from doing business there? MR EXCUSE MAKER. Abeg commot for my face. Most of you are just useless, brainless, and feckless. Keep waiting for ''GOVERNMENT''. Mumu people.

It is a good development. In a capitalist system like ours, development is realized through both the public and the private sectors.

It may interest you to know that we're not waiting for government, Mr. Overflowing brains. I just pray that the woman you assume is your mother is the one that actually gave birth to you, you were not PICKED. If not, you would have had respect for mothers.

SHUT UP with your worthless life. Nigeria is a capitalist economy and the private sector is VITAL in providing reliable public services.

A capitalist country will encourage competition by selling the four-state own refineries to Dangote competitors and encourage competition, instead of monopoly.

Million dollar question.

Unfortunately, you can't expect anything progressive from a government run by retrogressive individuals who have nothing upstairs. Other countries have left us wayyyyy behind. Yet some dunces are defending this mediocre (to put it mildly) retrogressive govt. Takes one to defend one in any case.

Hhmmm

so we waste more than 10 billion us dollars importing motor spirit every year. The government can't find a way to build refineries to safe our naira, rather they keep banning rice fish that don't worth upto 1 billion dollars.

My thoughts exactly..

Pick figures from the air..
The bigger the figures, the more benefit we're supposedly getting. The man himself, hasnt come out yet, as he's busy thinking of how to get it fully operational and pay off the loans.

The twit should stop spreading fake news

2 Lai Mohammeds is bad for government!!
