This isnt new information. The government should be more interested in making money from freight services. Other than that just concession the rail lines. The narrow guage lines concession should be wrapped up asap. helinues:If you dont have the attention span to read it yourself use a text to speech app. I recommended @voice aloud on android. |

However, some experts claim that the corporation may be realising more than N200m monthly from the services considering the number of seats on each coach and the soaring patronage that the route attracts. Over time, the actual figures generated by NRC from its operations have always been shrouded in secrecy. |

Transcorp Hotel Abuja Bans Lodging or Serving Female Customers Not Accompanied By A Man Foremost Human Rights Activist, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has criticized Transcorp Hilton Abuja for engaging in practices and issuing policies which according to him are discriminatory and against the law. The erudite scholar voiced this stance while narrating an incident in which his sister, Ler Jonathan, was restricted from sitting at the bar for not being accompanied by a man. Narrating the incident, he said: “Yesterday evening on Human Rights Day, of all days, my sister Ler Jonathan goes into a bar on the ground floor of Hilton Abuja at the end of a long day of travel, settles in to request modest refreshing. She also has a business to transact; this is at the Lobby Bar. So, she calls the attention of a waitress for a menu. The waitress approaches and quietly disqualifies her from service. According to this waitress, “company policy” of Hilton Abuja precludes her from serving females who are unaccompanied by a man. The waitress then goes away and returns thereafter bearing her supervisor who affirms her. At this, Ler Jonathan asks to speak to the duty manager, who confirmed that it was Hilton Abuja’s policy indeed not to serve women who are unaccompanied by men.” Read more: https://www.nairaland.com/5583715/transcorp-hotel-abuja-bans-lodging |

![]() The issue with Nigeria railway is that: 1.They are in tree network instead of branched. 2. Apart from the economically motivated ones built by colonial masters, few rail lines have been added. 3. Most are up north with little economic importance -Lagos to Ibadan-Onitsha-Aba would have made sense. 4. Most constructed are politically/ethnically motivated 5. Old coaches- who still uses locomotives when we have maglev, diesel, nuclear (we can leave nuclear for now because of, you know...) etc? 6. Single guage lines, instead of multiple - leading to various destinations. |

While it is true that there is need for complete overhaul of our rail system, what the current administration is doing in that sector is commendable. They should just step up their efforts. |
