I applied for secondary market with First Bank about a week ago. I'm yet to be debited. According to the TB Officer, my application is yet to be approved.

Something just seems to be wrong. Any body with this dilemma?

I hit that threshold at 25. I lost it but I'm within that reach " project value" again. I don't measure myself against the worst in the society.

Trust me people are just coded. In the real sense of intellectuals, this isn't money enough. All my study clique in school are in this rank now. So to everyone, the choice to either aim to achieve or to keep whining. To attain, is to inquire how to or work in line with someone who has to attain the trade secrets of how this can be done.
You don't measure yourself to the worst of the society but it is the reality.

You'll be shocked, banks are already crashing their rates to 1%, and I'm sure it will be so for for all banks before new year.

Most of the banks invest your money in Tbills anyways, so its bound to crash their prices, you can always reduce the risk of a risky investment with knowledge, don't be afraid to go into it and always test the water before jumping in

Haba. That's an unfair and vile comment to make. Especially since you don't know me nor my sacrifice towards my development. So unfair

What baffles me though is that, it all of these is happening (low FD rate, low Tbills rate..etc, closed border)..how come dollar rate is not dropping ...cuz I am not understanding

Dollar is the number one currency in the world, kindly read up Bretton Woods System and Agreement, it cannot drop like that, also the Government want Naira to be attractive to investors hence the low rates, Also Dollar is not sitting idle, they are working and working harder and smarter than us, 50% 0f the world's GDP is shared between USA and China, we still require the Dollar to refine our fuel and many more fundamentals

As someone who doesn't own a single property in naija but heavily invested in t bills, I still feel you guys are in a better scenario just incase the economy finally bursts.

At least with a house you're safe from homelessness, inflation risks etc.

My greatest fear is that all this money I'm carrying around could vanish if Nigeria goes Zimbabwe.

But properties are just damn too expensive.
@needful madam this is what I was telling you. For this reason I am moving all my funds to Canada so that I don't go from a FOR EXAMPLE $100,000 CAD owner to $20,000 CAD owner overnight.

Btw who here lives in Halifax? Hit me up

The guy has just 500k savings. Where is he going to stay when he gets to lagos? Rent a house and buy basic things in it. How much would be left for him to survive till he gets reasonable thing doing in Lagos? There are millions of people already in Lagos and trying different things just to be financially free to no avail.

Honestly, getting funny inspiration from those that succeeded is not enough o. What about the millions that tried and failed? We are built differently. What works for me, might not work for you.

I ran into my secondary school best friend in lekki job hunting and I decided to help him. I taught him my business and how to run it from importation and all. I even gave him important contacts and a million naira to start small which he did but guess what? Within a year, everything went underground! shocked

Inflation is at 11.85%, buying tbills for 6% is just useless. Apart from the stanbic dollar fund, Iā€™m also thinking of opening a union bank domiciliary account that gives interest. Anyone that has info on it?
