I made a video here which is more elaborate centered on how to promote your gig on fiverr

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn_EnpZqg74

ifeanyi93:
My top 4 secret method to Fiverr gig ranking for new sellers

This methods works like magic and i feel delighted to share to the members of this forum.

It is normal tradition to always begin your profile creation with keyword research.

This is very Important ranking factor, but when done the wrong way could be pose a big problem to your gig ranking.

How do I mean? U don't use keyword that top sellers are ranking for. What do u plan to achieve? Outrank top level sellers for their keywords? That u nd I knw ain't gonna happen for a long time

What did I do to find low competition keywords to easily rank for?

Use the fiverr search bar to look for these keywords. When doing that ensure to look out for the following:

1. The number of sellers that are currently ranking for the particular keyword. The fewer ie (<50) the Number the more chances for u to rank.

2. Lookout for the average level of the seller that currently rank for the keyword u want to use.

Don't go for keywords that has too many level 2 and pro seller ranking for.

Buyers lookout for sellers reviews and level before placing their order and as a new freelancer you have non of this, so dey ur lane.

3. Step 1 and 2 will generate for you high impressions and clicks for the particular gig you have optimized, what follows after this is conversion rate.

When a buyer click on your gig , how professional is your profile to convince the buyer to place order, or just search for another seller.

Ensure to setup a superb profile to compel buyer to order from you

The last tip I will share is to create another gig in same category to support the particular gig u want to rank for. I recently discovered that Fiverr ranks sellers with similar gigs.

In conclusion, new freelancers on fiverr should adopt the methods I have revealed and I tagged, "go small and grow big"

I hope you find this short piece helpful towards your freelancing career.

Has anyone here shipped anything with First Class International Mail from USPS?

I did and it's over 3 weeks yet nothing yet but "still in transit".

I asked on the USPS thread but it's so quiet over there.

I believe the package is in Nigeria already because it left the U. S after my seller dropped it off on 4th of December.

How do I even know if it arrives, I just googled and the results so far has been from users with unpleasant experiences with that mail class.

Please help. Thanks.

Fingerprinter:

See what I did:

1. I already changed my U.S number to Naija number - that was last year when I voluntarily wanted them to deport me, yet it did not happen. So, you should change your phone number to Naija number because they will likely send you a link to that number when you are doing the verification, especially if your phone cannot snap QR codes.

2. I was sent a "deportation" email on Sunday. In the email, they asked me to upload my original photo.

3. On Tuesday, I went to my profile >> settings, and changed the fulname I had there to my sister's full name as it appears on her ID. Already, my profile description does not contain a name. But if you included a name in your description, I mean all those, "Welcome to my profile, I am John Smith, I am a social media strategist...bla bla"you need to remove it. See image below to understand what I mean when I said I went to my profile settings to change the full name there.

4. That same Tuesday evening, I uploaded one sharp studio photo of my sister as my profile avatar. Before this time, I was using a random logo.

5. Then wednesday morning, I did the verification using my sister's voter's card. After a few minutes, I recieved a notification, "Congrats, you have verified your ID on Fiverr." Today is Friday, and no other issues. So, I am assuming I have no other issues.

how do your withdraw your funds? isn't the name on your payoneer account different from your sister's name?

1. Learn to Be a Referee
You need to become an excellent setter of boundaries when you work as your own boss - boundaries for others, and for yourself. Make sure you formulate rules about how you spend your time, including your night and weekend hours. Give yourself time for vacations too.
It is also important to clearly define certain boundaries for those who would use your services:

-You're Worth the Money. Freelancing is the land of low-ball offers. An offer of $5 for an hour-long gig is ridiculous - don't take it. You're worth the money, and if you've taken the risk of going out on your own, you deserve the reward of a decent payment.
-Don't Work Hours You're Not Paid For. Once again, bill for everything. If a potential client suggests that you forgo billing for certain aspects of a job or wants a substantial amount of meeting time "off the clock," you need to say no.
-Don't Answer Your Phone and Email All the Time. Once you set limits on when you do and do not work, you need to feel comfortable telling your clients no. Enforce your no-call times. If you're a good enough worker, your clients cannot begrudge you for abiding by your own rules.

2. Build Your Support Team
Freelancing can prove to be lonely at times, especially if you work from home. You need to build a solid support team and make time for friends during the week so you don't burn out. The people you rely on ideally should be able to offer different perspectives on your work and help with managing your daily tasks.

-Count on Outsourcing. Don't waste any of your valuable time with tasks you aren't very good at or that is the least relevant to your work. Equally, if you have more jobs than you can handle, outsource. You may lose a few bucks but in the end you make more from doing more work. For instance, if you offer article writing services, and you have bulk articles, you can outsource to good websites like scribesbay.com that offer good writing services. In the end, you make more delivering more value. Focus on how you can increase supply. Remember, your goal is to move up the chain.
-Connect With Other Freelancers. Freelance work can feel isolating and confusing, especially when income ebbs and flows and you're not always sure what to do. Join a support network, such as Freelancer's Union, for advice, assistance, and additional networking opportunities. You can also find local help on Meetup.com, and answers to your tax- and employment-related questions on the government's Small Business Administration website.
-Consider Coworking. If your main challenge with freelancing is the sense of isolation, consider coworking as an alternative to working from home. A coworking arrangement allows you to rent office space for a small fee so you can mingle with other freelancers, share ideas, and go through the motions of traditional work life.

3. Provide Yourself With Benefits
You need to have a plan for benefits. As a freelance worker, you won't have access to health insurance, disability insurance, or life insurance through any of your clients. You also won't be able to count on the security of regular paychecks. Each of these challenges is surmountable, however, as long as you plan ahead.

-Provide an Income Buffer. First of all, account for the ebbs and flows of income by having between three and six months' worth of savings in your bank account. This buffer can help in months that work is scarce, and you can build it back up when the work pours in again. Additionally, you should start and build up an emergency fund.
-Insurance Coverage. Insurance should be considered part of the cost of doing business. It's wise to seek out medical, short-term disability, and long-term disability plans as a bare minimum of coverage. Depending on your age and health, it may also be prudent to purchase dental and vision insurance.
-Retirement Benefits. Finally, make sure to plan for your future. In addition to your own research, a financial advisor can help you make retirement decisions, and an accountant can help you understand the tax implications of any avenues you're considering.

Final word
If you're thinking about making the leap to a freelance career, don't look at it as an escape from the rat race of traditional employment. Freelancing comes with significant risks and challenges, and you need to be sure you're prepared for the inevitable difficulties that arise. However, with an independent personality, a little planning, and a lot of creativity, you may find that freelance work is the perfect mixture of flexibility and self-fulfillment for your career path.

What additional tips can you suggest to thrive as a freelancer?
