Daniel Olukoya, general Ooverseer, Mountain of
Fire and Miracles Ministries, says the church
does not celebrate Christmas because it is
“unbiblical.”

Olukoya made this known during the
Wednesday “Manner Water Service”, which
coincided with the 2019 Christmas celebration,
at the Church’s Headquarters in Lagos.

He said no book in the bible recorded the word
“Christmas” or that Jesus was born on
December 25.

“If you really study the Bible from Genesis to
Revelation, there is no word like Christmas.

“The bible only recorded that the Shepherds
were taking care of their flocks during a very
cold season when they sighted the star that
announced the birth of Jesus Christ. This cold
period could be around April or May,’’ Olukoya
said.

According to the general overseer, December 25
is a date originally set aside by the ancient
Romans for the Mars festival by thworshippers of the sun.

Olukoya said the birth of Christ was
subsequently co-opted into the same date to
give the Mars festival more popularity and then
renamed “Christmas”.

He warned modern Christians to stop
promoting such an “unbiblical” celebration.
According to him, the MFM church has decided
to henceforth engage members in various
spiritual activities during such periods and
other public holidays to discourage them from
partaking in such “unscriptural celebration

A church that pioneered fall and die prayer and turned the church into a glorified witchcraft coven is condemning others for celebrating Christmas. Is your fall and die prayer biblical or Scriptural? Have you forgotten we are under grace and not under the Law. MFN teachings and prayer forms are demonic and anti Christ. He should first remove the planks in his eyes before he can see the speck on other people to remove.

Confused people confusing their followers.
Is anything different from what the early Christians did in choosing the date for Christmas celebration in order to obliterate the pegan worship then, and the above?

People claiming to understand the scriptures but always twisting it to selfish gains.

Olukoya should tell us where the word "rapture" is mentioned in the bible.

Viewing his points with fairness, he's right! His reason is also similar with why deeperlife church too do not celebrate it.

However, everybody has d right to believe what he/she wants. As for me I choose to agree with what he said; that Christmas is not mentioned in the Bible and no specific date was mentioned for Jesus' birth. Notwithstanding, despite being chosen by d Romans, the date or name has no significance with my belief, what I'm particular about is that a day is set aside for the celebration of the birth of the Savior of the world. Whichever day in d year it could ever be, it is worth celebrating. It's the reason for the celebration I'm concerned about, not the name nor the date. Unlike Islam, Christianity which is new testament belief is not frantic about dates and routine rites except the old orthodoxies such as Catholics..

It's also a day for deep reflections on the purpose of Jesus' birth and wining a soul for him on that day isn't bad.

Well, it's just a tradition and one can choose whether or not he wants to celebrate it
