house,
please I need your help. my 2kva inverter is no more charging my battery when connected to the power. meanwhile, I get output when plug to power source. it's only solar charging the battery now and that is not enough.

This thing started when I plug it on to charge battery when I put on my generator (2.5kva).

please what can I do now.

If your inverter get fuse box, check it first.

There is a key information you didn't give and that's, have you used the generator with the inverter before?

I'll be giving advise based on the premise that you've used the generator with the inverter before.

a. Check the frequency of the generator. Most inverters are frequency sensitive. The frequency tolerance of most inverters is in the neighborhood of 50Hz (±2Hz).

b. Check the generator voltage. If the voltage is way too high, you may need to put ON other appliances to step the voltage down before the inverter can kick in. This usually happens when the generator is going bad.

c. If your inverter has selectable charge current, select about 10A and see if the inverter can start charging.

Some generator frequency can go as high as 110Hz, at that rate most inverters will no longer be able to charge the batteries. Even premium inverter like Schneider's Connext SW can only manage between 44Hz to 70Hz.

I think we're saying the same thing as I opined in "a".

it's been long I used the generator to charge the battery last.
I unplugged it when I discovered it not charging the battery and hearing some noise from it. when now connect to normal power source no sound even the normal working sound.
if turn it on, I get the output volts and the battery level but no sign of it working and charging.

for the fuses, I have tested the fuse one after the other and all tested ok.

I don't know if it has selectable charge current

If you have the right tools, you need to reset the inverter.

Disconnect solar connection first, then proceed to disconnect from power source.. left with inverter connected to batteries. Disconnect the battery cables totally, allow the inverter to reset, then connect everything back, if it does not work, consult the manufacturer or an expert mostly where you got it from....

Hello folks,

I am trying to get my head around this; I have noticed that since I added 2 more panels and got 4 new batteries my instantaneous hervest in amps has never gotten above 5amps. However when I was using 6 Panels with 2 batteries, there was a day I got 8.2amps.
Today I decided to test the 2 panels to be sure they are giving out the right voltage and everything checked out.

My question is whether this is normal behaviour; does more batteries mean lesser amperage generation?

If you're looking to buy small MPPT CCs...20A, 30A, etc. I'm your plug. Check it out on Jumia.

Just go to Jumia homepage and paste the extension below at the end of the jumia web address. Quote this message if you have any issues locating it.

Dishtech:

You can use ups but with some modifications like
1. Battery cable, 2. Adding Fan, Adding MOSFETs if there is space or use a higher rate ups for 1/3 load ( 1,500 VA for 500va Load). 3. Use external charger solar system for charging. Then you are good to go without any problems. But for me I can build mine from scratch.

Come and build for me oga. Lets talk i love ur set up

How many sellers honour warranty?
Nigeria is capitalist oriented. My little study of economics tells me monopoly isn't good. So let many sellers enter the scene; the better the merrier. Carry on callmenuel; I get your back. Your prices are alaba compliant.
Imagine buying mc4 connector for 700 when I can get it for less than 200 elsewhere?

Okay it seem shading is the problem; there is an electric pole beside my panels that seem to cause the problem. Can any of the gurus advice on how I can get to fix this? is there anything like shading reflector or something?
I can't even think of relocating the panels and I don't think relocating the like will help much either.
I really need to find a workaround to this as I have been under-utilizing my array.

Yes it's my pole but there is more devil in the details of the pole which has to do with electric cable slag (according to my electrician), as the distance between the pole and the house may become too much if we have to relocate it.
Will explore further though.
Thanks

@earthrelm, whwnevr I quote that your post to respond, I get bot-whacked.

kindly confirm the original sellers name. this is the you posted.
where did you buy the batteries and for how much?

NB: Pardon that I spelt your username wrongly. I had to remove a letter cos I just didn't know the trigger word that gets me slammed.

Can't even use the word "baaanned" cos it's a suspect too.

Relocate the pole... you can use two poles in case of lag.

Relocate the pole. Maybe it's a sign you should go offgrid wink
