Chief GAZZUZZ,my bro's 07 Corolla sports started jerking yesterday.
Told him to scan it and he got a #1 cylinder misfire code.
Removed the plug on that cylinder and it was oil soaked. He changed the plug and coil and drove around and it was still oil soaked.
He's being advised to ring the engine.
Can he do that or should he just buy another engine and if he's going the ringing part, all the cylinders or only the defective one?
Car was bought in mid 2017 with about 200k miles(from VIN search) though rolled back to 80k or so.
He uses Mobil 20W 50(I advised him against this) but changes oil every 3k months and is very meticulous with servicing(an elect engineer).
Lives in Enugu.
Thanks in advance

looks more like a faulty ignition coil than a sparkplug. Swap coils and see if the problem moves.

excessive carbon buildup on valve crowns resulting in low compression on that cylinder.

You can confirm with a compression tool.

How can it be rectified/what does he tell Kazeem to do if it turns out to be that?
Many thanks already(faint hope he doesn't need to change or ring engine)

Good day bosses.
Please I bought a car scanner, when ever I try to scan Honda element 2005, it keeps saying NO CODE FOUND ON THIS MODULE.
I tried it for my neighbors cars and it displays their own diagnostics error codes.
Please what can be wrong?
Let me not be removing the log from other people eye while leaving the beam in my own eye ohh...
Please help

If you don't have a check engine light means everything thing is normal in your vehicle. But you can confirm your brain box is ok and the scanner connects if you are able to pull your vehicle specifications from the scanner

Please kindly recommend a good scanner product and possibly model I can buy for personal use on my Honda Accord 2001. There are too many scanners flying around and I don't want to buy something that will not end up serving me. Thanks

Reliable brand with little technical know how and parts. For a vehicle that will be used regularly get a popular vehicle with easy to reach parts.
