He owns a shipping line. Brings in shitloads of vehicles and other equipment and clears for clients. I learned he also has ‘special’ connections where he doesn’t pay duties on a lot of his merchandise. Reason why a lot of companies ship into the country through him.

It's hard to see Igbo business men coming together to fix infrastructure decays within thier village and her environs bit they can build heavy mansions in the villages and turn a blind eye to infrastructure decay which if fixed would help the poor villagers around.
They prefer to be the only shining light in the midst of darkness.

My friend please sit down... do the rich in VGC and other parts of Lekki come together and fix the light for the poor around them? Kano nko? Kebbi nko? The rich are paying a lot of tax (at least so government claims, with all the increase in revenue collection from income, VAT, even transfers). The rich also employ people (drivers, washers, secretaries, guards, personal assistants, not to mention those they employed in the actual industry/factory/studio).

Let the government do what the rich have paid tax for.
Let the poor masses (who are of a majority) vote for the people who would give them these services.
