good morning. Am based in kaduna and I also went to their office at Peugeot junction to make enquiries. They actually sell China stone coat and act as middle men. There is no tower stone coat roofing sheet in that office

Thanks for your response. I was their also, I saw the roofing sheets. It was boldly written on it "TOWER" though they have only one colour (light orange).

They told me that it is an old stock, that they stopped producing stone coated because Chinese products have spoiled their market.

ok. My plan is to go to abuja and hopefully have better options to choose from. Made in Korea is good from my research and can be sold btw 2500 to 2700. Transporting it to kaduna should not be too expensive.

Welcome “vision 2020” into year 2020.

Now to your questions.
Your engineer is right by saying he will use 6” solid sandcrete block for the surrounding walls and 5 solid sandcrete block for the inner partitions wall.

But in modern construct now most builder and engr usually used 9” sandcrete hollow block for most building because.

1. It’s very strong to withstand load.
2. It can accommodate any features design such as (conduit plumbing piping system, Ac waste connection pipes and many more.
3. When it’s comes to windows installation with burglary proof, independent mosquito net, 9” block do give more space to achieve all these.
4. Many doors now comes in 9” (although it’s optional).

Lastly ask your builder, engr to introduce columns and roof beam into the building since you are proposed to do concrete facia.

This is my little advice as a BUILDER.

I will be the one to provide the sand and the cement and water.. all they will provide is Services I.e machine/Engine for the blocks and Labor... i contacted some one today and he told me for him to mold a piece of block while a provide the sand and cement/water it will be #130 per a piece and he can produce 40piece for a bag of cement.. which means if I want to mold 100bags = 3000 Blocks I will have to pay him 390,000 plus the fact that I still be the one to buy the 100 bags of cement and provide the sand...

So guys please what’s your take on this .. because when I did my calculations with all cost I think the total amount I will spend for just molding 3000 blocks will be ridiculous and doesn’t make much sense to me ...

Op you made a mistake since you will the one to provide the necessary materials to mold the block what you need to do ask the molder how will he collects to mold one bag of cement Ok some will tell you 900naria for a bag of cement you can now bring down to 700naria to mold a bag of cement with this archive a result, secondly look for another molder ask how he collect to mold a bag thanks

Things are too expensive particularly in Lagos. Just finished roofing a 4 bedrooms bungalow all rooms ensuit for 650k and it's slate that was used oh with only d slate gulping 300k. Labour 60k for just d exterior n logging below. Diff represent s wood work n other assessories. Site in Ikorodu lagos
