Okay na. Cram "tips and tricks" and land in Canada first. When finding a job or communicating becomes difficult, you'll understand.

You think Canadas' requirement for IELTS is just a hurdle for immigration purposes? Their two main languages are English and French. You must be able to communicate effectively in either language. I've seen posts and videos about how difficult it is for foreigners to assimilate there because their English is bad, especially in speaking and writing. Using good grammar in your CV and speaking well to a recruiter at a job interview there can make the difference between you and another person seeking the same job being hired.
The little things matter and "anything that works" won't cut it most times.
have you seen the written english in gcms notes I bet you havent. If canadians were made to write ielts they wont score 7 in writing . Trudeau or the immigration minister won't score 7.

A lot of Canadians don't write good English really..my Canadian supervisor at work makes a lot of grammatical blunders in his report, and I always have to proofread and correct his reports before sending...

It can be used as long as you have adequate proof that the business is authentic and running and you were working there and receiving a salary (bank statement or cash certificate). Also you need evidence from clients. Functional address etc

Thank you very much i appreciate the reply. The business is authentic and running but with all honesty, I am just a registered part of the company as a social media director not working there in person, I have been performing duties from the disapora.

Secondly I have not been receiving salary seeing it is a family business and I have shares or stake in it, I have rather been investing in the business.

Please what can I do ? Also what is the cash certificate thing? Thanks ALOT

Most of the people saying Canadians don't write good English, take out time to research, you'd find out a dozen of these people are not native Canadians - Immigrants from all over the world.

But again, everybody would be alright.

I agree with you regarding the speaking part of IELTS being important but I don’t think the written test is a true representation of Business writing. I think it’s wayyy different and easier than those essays and letter in ielts. Majority of The people not assimilating in Canada due to language barriers are not Nigerians. It’s impossible to cram and pass ielts speaking, or any speaking test at all. Also CV writing is a whole lot different from IELTS.

You hardly see people fail speaking tests here. I've never met an educated Nigerian that speaks English with hesitation, home and abroad.

You could argue that Nigerians get rejected due to not being a good fit for the company culture or due to not having Canadian work experience but definitely not because of their inability to express themselves properly.

Happy New Year lovely people, please I need clarifications from the gurus in here... Are provincial nominees expected to send work reference letters based on the last ten years for paper based application? Work experience is not expressly stated in expected list, POF isn't also stated, let alone education papers, do we assume the Province gave them ahead!

ASIN I’ve worked with these white people a lot, many of them don’t carry this thing on their head. My coworker at my last job will be typing email and be opening dictionary to impress our oga that doesn’t send. I go just Dey laugh.

It was so funny because this colleague of mine kept failing IELTS writing not because she didn’t know how to write but she was overdoing it because that’s what she does at work. Write a lot of big words to the point where the sentence makes little sense.
