No one says Nigeria does not "have too strong a central government". But as someone said, "Na here we de now", so deal with it or change it if you don't like how it is. Or can't you? Too helpless because you surrender[ed] your freedom and resources to government", so you just wail about it? That's your choice!

I pay tax because I want to and not because I am forced by the government! Thankfully, Nigeria does not tax up to the 25% some nations do, but then neither do we provide the services those nations provide. Perhaps if they did tax you more you'd ask them to be more accountable to you who voted for them!

O! I forget, you already "surrendered your freedom and resources to government", you weak helpless hopeless slave to government!
I think i'll stop here. You're too dumb to engage with in an intellectual discourse.
Adios dunce!!

You think this is about "we" people, really? Tell me the last time a minor party won presidential election in USA because of the credibility of the candidate or any other country for that matter. They don't call them major parties for nothing. Any credible candidate will have to emerge on the platform of bigger parties, no two ways about it. Many electorates have attached themselves to the ideologies of major parties and any "credible" who wants their votes has to use the platform of their parties.
It's either use the "platform of their parties", or spend years building up "credibility" from scratch like former coup plotting military ruler Muhammadu Buhari did with ANPP under the leadership of Late Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke, winning 32.2% of the vote in the presidential elections of 19 April 2003 and 18% in 2007, and losing to Jonathan in 2011 as the Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) before going on to kick out the professional looting party called pdp in 2015 and rubbing their incompetent faces in it in 2019 with APC.

Or perhaps some miss how much effort one must put in to convince the majority of Nigerians to vote for a person?

Dude, like I said you're too intellectually deficient to discuss with. Whether you like it or not, paying tax is not a matter of choice. In some countries you get jailed for tax evasion. In Nigeria you get fined. If you're an employee, it is deducted from source without your approval. For you to not appreciate this fact shows you're either not meaningfully employed or just unemployed, or you're in a state of self-denial. I can't help you. Really, I can't.

So, you want to help me become like you who "surrenders their freedom and resources to government"? You are enslaved and you want me to join you wearing chains, you funny person!

I do appreciate the fact that one has to pay tax, as in, dip their filthy looting fingers inside my pocket and steal my hard earned cash and give me very little in return! That's why I would rather have a person in charge who loots a lot less of it than someone with severe looting issues. But as you say, I'm just too "intellectually deficient" so I don't just surrender my hard earned cash and my "freedom and resources to government"!

Let me assure you that whatever tax, freedom and resources you may have surrendered to government today, it will pale into insignificance in the future when they start taking pounds of flesh off you. Then might you learn the deficiency of intellect that made you surrender your "freedom and resources" and tax to looting incompetent thieves instead of standing strong and demanding the government account for your tax that you surrendered to them!

But, seriously, did the US Embassy lie?.
We have to stop deluding ourselves.

Buhari is Nigeria's biggest hypocrite!

He and his party actually gave Nigerians fake hopes that
he was coming to change things only for him to worsen them

.

An independent entity described your country and people in a disgraceful way and you showed total lack of shame to mention Buhari's name!

Maybe Buhari taught parents to enrol their kids in miracle centres for WAEC exam or told SARS and police to harass innocent citizens for bribe or bail. Maybe Buhari taught Nigerians how to bribe their way everywhere they go or import/produce fake and substandard goods.

Get your head out of your arse hole and think critically!

Mr Buhari'sdad, you get your head out of his arse. The buck stops at Buhari (the clown's) table. Name one problem mentioned in the US write-up that Buhari is near fixing? One! Well, I don't expect a response, your head is way up is arse, so you might not be able to talk/type. YEYE dey SMELL.

I'm sure 95% of US Citizens reading the whole write up will have a change of mind about coming to Nigeria...
Apart from companies looking for cheap labour, how many other investors will take the risk despite reading all that.
I pray for the day Nigerians will wake up to realize they are the ones to develop Nigeria.

This is just a summary of the irony of what Nigeria has became today as a nation especially in security & health wherein our rulers have so much failed that Nigeria has now become a tragicomic joke.

If you want change, then vote for change...

Mumu, Buhari and his family live on the people's dime because of what? Because they passed a big exam? Or because people have faith that, if power is consolidated in their dad, things will improve? Idiots like you rant on, like Buhari, that change begins with you, but that's not how societal changes occur The GI bill that educated most in the US was not passed by a waiter in the bar; it was pushed by the president, you clown. Africans keep giving their leaders a pass and expect improvements. YEYE, if you have counterinfo, I will be willing to engage you; else SCRAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Tell us, what have you changed on your street(talk less of local government)? Power needs to be consolidated to be efficient, you tool.
