My brother in the US said to me last week "brother forget what you see in T.Vs, these African Americans are the most useless set of humans i have seen. Don't be suprised that the common man you see in the streets of Nigeria is way smarter than Jay Z. I don't want to do drugs, i want to work hard for my money, doing drugs here will make you rich and i will never do it, but one thing i will forever do is support the drug dealers decision to sell drugs because the buyers who are mostly African Americans don't deserve pity!"

I'm asking because almost every able bodied African immigrant, works. But of course every assistance helps.

food, metal, art, clothes, natural and human resources, music, construction, architectural e.t.c.

Africans (melanated people) have always been the dominant race...

but when Africans where the "dominant" race the world was peaceful, there were no wars, weapons of mass destruction e.t.c..

Africans and Africa contributed and still contribute everything you see today all over the world...

why couldn't the europeans develop on their own?
why did they have the rob the whole world?
why was it after they invaded Africa that you started seeing developments?

somewhere in Africa the plan for everything you see today was already there...

so for the last 2000 years europeans couldn't build trains, cars, aeroplanes e.t.c on their own...

why has the most developments happened in the last 400 years is what you should be asking yourself.
for a start,Africa has the most fertile soil in the world, but we contribute only 3% of world production.why is it that we have things in abundance, but those who don't have are doing better than us?

Where/when did that happen?

True, but I think is because of slavery..

They felt that Africans sold them into slavery

If so they should be thanking us for that na their great grand parents so suppose they vex.

Ghanaians possess the same positive traits. They can match Nigerians in terms of anything you can think off except they hardly do drugs, scamming and are less corrupt. Now why should other Africans emulate Nigerians when Ghanaians are of better behavior

I'm wondering why the "positive traits" attributed to Ghana and Nigeria seem to correlate with the fact they're both English speaking countries?

African americans have this irritating way they speak like they are angry. Very fast and forceful in speech. Huge turn off.

The women are masculine, while the men are feminine. They are a big dent to our image as black people. I wish they can go into extinction.
Wow! Most of the comments by Nigerians are shocking. You say this to a black American is the same way other African nationals see Nigerians. Ghanaians say the same about how Nigerians speaks which is irritating even our neighbors Benin republic say the same thing about us. The east Africans say the same about west Africans. I have this Tanzanian friend, she said , " if I hear a west African (Nigerian, Liberia, Sierra Leone and even Ghana) speak, she runs.

I think Nigerians are big dents to black as a whole. How many African Americans do you see in foreign prisons ? Aside from the crimes African Americans commit in America, where do you hear of them? Unlike we Nigerians that commit in every corner of the world . Are we the only country with the largest population to commit crimes?

Know the way you talk. You better be neutral and stop acting like your nationality is innocent..

When Africa was colonised there was no technology..

Africans didn't accept religion, religion was imposed on Africans.

most schools had religious origin and if Africans wanted jobs they have to attend those religious schools.

religion is a tool of mind control and colonialism.

Are you forgetting india too was colonised ? undecided

Why are they more technologically inclined but Africans instead are perfect religious zombies?

They tried to change Liberia for the better based on the knowledge they had gained from the west. But what did the insecure Africans do? Accused them of thinking they are better! And that caused a war.

This is why blacks in diaspora fixing africa can never work because of the mentality of insecure Africans. You accuse blacks/africans from overseas of thinking they are better when they are trying to help because you are insecure.

It's part of the crabs in a mentality of black ppl.

Oh really

Have you been to Liberia
Are you from Liberia?

If the answer to these two is no
Then you do not have the full picture

Yes a lot of Africans are self destructive
So are the AAs

The African Americans went through a lot.
It affected them
We have to acknowledge that

Nigerians were very lucky, our cultures emerged somewhat unscathed after colonialism. Yoruba's still have their identity, ditto Igbos and Hausa/Fulani cling to their identity so fiercely it holds them back at times in their opinion. (Tiv, Efik etc you have yours, but you are small small grin)

I recall a good article talking about this, we had only 100 years of oppression at the most. Whereas the poor African Americans have been oppressed for over two centuries, interestingly the same for South Africans (over 4 centuries as the first whites landed in the 17th century).

That is why their reaction to racism is very different.. We have to acknowledge their pain. But at the same time, they should see the benefit of our positive mindset and attitude of perseverance in the face of adversity..

Many of the people on this thread are young and they lack real world experience.
They consume a lot of western media without realizing those outlets have their own agenda for the narrative that spread

Africans are too insecure. Yet they want change.

Yes AAs too are self-destructive, but they're thinking is slightly better than Africans in the liberia situation.

Read 'Guns, Germs and Steel' by Oyinbo man Jared Diamond or 'Prisoners of Geography' by Tim Marshall first. Before asking ignorant questions mumu.

Africa by and large was very isolated compared to the rest of the continents. Our climate too was very different and the environment much harsher to develop than say Western Europe or part of Asia.

Also we don't have the most fertile soil in the world. Tropical soil is notoriously poor, exhausted by only a few seasons of agriculture, as the top soil is very thin. It also erodes quickly once the trees holding it down have been removed..

This question was posed even by whites and has been answered. At the same time, when black africans did move to more benign regions their civilisations flourished . See Ta Seti who defeated the Roman Empire or Ancient Egypt who stated their ancestors came from a land that lay to the South Punt (inner africa). Even Aksumite civilisations and Malians showed that Black Africans had no issues producing world class civilisations.

I would suggest you read more..

Bros, you dont see them in other prisons because..... WHERE THEM DEY GO? Apart from America, where do they visit? They shout motherland but never leave their states. Even wealthy AA (businessmen, drug dealers, govt workers) will rather go to paris than Africa.
I stand to be corrected if i say 80% of Nigerians in Nigeria have not seen an AA.

Nope. Most of their companies are meant for siphoning and laundering in the guise of expatriates or foreign investments (same goes to Africa continent). It's a long straw from the USA to China's cup of tea. Reason, Trump called them "cunning dwarfs" because China turned their hubs meant for tricky means to their economic advantage. Hence, the devaluation of currency and internal monetary circulation, killing of foreign spies and internal traitors who work as spies, etc.... Trump has companies in China too but frowns at their policies that blocks the leakage. Americans are really bad, I mean bad gamers!

china's progress is also due to the fact that U.S companies turned china to their manufacturing hub..

like I told Wolgrace.

India too is like china...

they were/are the manufacturing hub of united kingdom.

they used the knowledge to re-create their own technology.

no African nation has ever been the manufacturing hub of any european nation and the europeans don't do knowledge and technology transfer with Africans..

why don't AA's have an AA made smartphone?

So they didn't leave any infrastructure?
And teach how to maintain them?

Africans clearly have other priorities abeg.

Africans contribute more, the resources are gotten mostly from Africa....

europeans need a ready market to sell finished products to and Africa acts as that ready market...

would africans buy european products if they have been making their own products for the last 60 years...

without a ready market to sell products to Companies will fail.. in other words, without africa ready market europe will collapse..
