Hello everyone,

I currently have just 1+ year work experience after my degree. I am a Software developer now, but I studied Biology related course in school. During the course of my degree, I spent my school breaks working in tech firms, and can hence surely gather 3 yrs work experience. But is it possible to gather these experiences together into 3 years, since it wasn't continuous?
If yes, it possible to claim 3+ years work experience since my degree isn't relevant to the experience?

Greetings people!

Anyone with details on CES evaluation for lawyers?

I have searched the entire forum and beyond, not one result pointed this out. Now that IQAS is on suspension, i really want to know if ECA from CES is a better alternative and if this is worth giving a shot for maximum (professional) points.

Wow I see your dilemma, so sorry.....I used CES but not as a lawyer.

Depending on your potential CRS, you could:

1) do 2 degrees (instead of prof degree) like MumofTwins2017 was initially doing with WES (costs 7 CRS points), while trying to max out on IELTS to make up for IQAS closure.
2) send an email to CES to ask (no guarantee that the response by mail will jive with final evaluation).
3) wait till IQAS reopen in May 2020 (costs time)
4) be the trail blazer.... just try CES and see how it goes (costs money)

Please have you received your passport ready for pickup mail and COPR? Not yet. I submitted my passport on December 16th.
What was your PPR to COPR timeline?

How many document should one evaluate if you are applying to PNP or Express Entry.

I have Bsc accounting, this is where I got my work experience from and the particular NOC I chosed. But I got this degree from Nigeria university, considering the stress involve to get transcript in my school, worst of, I presently don't reside in Naija.

On the other hand, I have masters in Business Studies with focus in accounting in global enterprises. I obtained this degree from a European university and I believed this will be easier for me to verify in WES or any other chosen assessment organisation.

Please, should I evaluate my masters only for PNP. Or evaluate bachelor degree, masters respectively.

Lastly, is there need to evaluate NECO result as well.

Thanks.

Hello guys,

Concerning uploading statements of accounts, is it compulsory I go to the bank to get a printed copy, or can compile the ones my bank usually sends monthly via email?

If it's GTB and you have online access to your account, you can generate the statements of account with every page signed and stamped, and a summary of account details (including current/closing balance) at the topmost part of the first page. It's what I used.

so annoying, people are not just open to knowledge, there is a guideline on how to edit a post on page 1, i bet that's the least they would want to find out, pressing issues of life is so difficult for many to even type in the search bar not to talk of editing a PPR post... well we'll all be alright las las

Here's the story as promised

POST AOR
I think this was the most trying period frankly because I was so anxious, you know expecting that the PPR will be offered very soon. Biometrics came in 13 days later and I really felt there was progress. But I was always reading the comments from various groups omo it seems like there are some people just there to cause anxiety with all their theories.
I just decided to stay calm and just keep counting days. However, I changed jobs and moved on to a logistics company. I think that was one of the worst mistakes I made post AOR. It was supposed to be a big role with a fair salary but omo the way of working there was just crazy it was as bad as the owner dey insult staff, slap staff and owes them money like mad. Again this lead to so much anxiety leading to another overwhelming expectation of PPR. I no lie before a month, I had to resign from there before I lost my mind.
Moved on to a new place smaller in size, no staff insults or hot slaps from the owner. Unfortunately, the pay was far less but omo peace of mind was paramount for my frankly. It was more of a one man start up business with a lot of prospects, you know so many young people very welcoming environment. It was quite tasking as I had to do all the accounting, cleaning up the company books and all. It was a bit of a distraction from the PPR expectation.
I also added teaching of ICAN courses to the mix make money dey enter while I sharpen my skills. I had already been teaching ACCA after passing all the papers.
PPR came in on 9th January by 10:56pm while I was trying to sleep and omo the joy was quite immeasurable. I couldn’t believe it. Frankly I thought it would take the six months that IRCC said. Especially when I could see more of Indians, getting the PPR in 2 – 3 month.

Many thanks for all the support recieved from you guys here. If i had used nairaland in 2015 for student visa, perhaps the outcome would have been different.

Points to note:
Don't underestimate the power of your prayers and faith.( I wrote this testimony before the PPR was out)
Kindly make sure your documents are as easy as possible for the the guys on the other end to assess.
Have a very open mind on this journey.
Don't get bugged down when you don't see ghosts
The info on nairaland is more than sufficient
Unfortunately we need to invest more in increasing our scores 8,7,7,7 won't quite cut it anymore.
Please o when you make up your mind to get on this journey, kindly be in good terms with your employer, HR manager as the case maybe they can be a major stumbling block

Finally, I give God all the glory for making this possible
My parents who encouraged me during the IELTS trauma.

All the best guys.

Congrats man, does it mean u paid another application fee??

You're welcome! Meanwhile, you should take advantage of the free pre-arrival services - SOPA (my fav), AEIP, Planning For Canada and Next Stop Canada - if you haven't done so already.
After registration (whereby you'll be asked to upload your passport request letter), you will gain access to online resources and you can also speak to counselors. They are available to answer any questions you may have about settlement, employment and others. You can find the link on your passport request mail or simply google search those acronyms. Thank me later. smiley
