You are an I diot if you think ball possession is the only tactics in football. Bousquet will not even near Davids or Kante outside Barcelona’s ball possession style. Favoritism is what kept Bousquet in the line up, then Toure was far better than him. Pep know Bousquet will be useless in CB cos he is weak and basic. Yaya can play anywhere in the midfield, he was that good.

If you don’t know tactics I will explain to you. Mascherano was still doing a defensive midfielder work from CB if you don’t know. Barcelona was always dominating teams in ball possession so Mascherano was still doing a defensive midfield work because they were playing high line defense. Bousquet was there to play a simple pass to xavi most times, he is a definition of carry along player.

This is why I said you don’t know football. Tactics varies. In that formation both were defensive midfielders. Read and learn tactics.
