Gurus in the house, i have two questions
1) my wife secured an admission to the UK, i hope myself and the 2 kids can go with her as dependents?
2) i was denied visiting visa to the UK in July last year, i hope this will not be a hindrance for me ?

i will appreciate responses to this. God bless......

1. yes it possible ,as long as you have enough money to fulfill the maintenance allowance .

2. previous denied visiting visa should not be an issue except if it was refusal due to fraudulent things

Baba go and do a flexi appointment (walk-in).- with 42k

If u do super priority on the 20th and school has said u must arrive latest 24th, I don’t know how that’s gonna work. Note that super priority isn’t exactly 24 hours, might be 2/3days.

Resumption is 24th Jan, despite having a refusal from Australia( dependant visa), we still gambled with priority application but God showed us favour and mercy. We didn’t receive any acknowledgment mail nor decision mail from DMC, only the non straightforward mail and then the TLS collection mail yesterday. As a matter of fact, from the date on the letter, decision was made on 8th Jan, same day we received non straightforward mail so that was like 3working days after biometrics. The whole process from application to collection took 7 working days! We pretty stoked

I will not forget to show gratitude to everyone that’s been supportive. Thank you for taking your time to answer my queries especially Kode, zoey, lagosismyhome, Abiscoco and all. And to others expecting they visas, I pray u receive a positive decision.

Congratulations..

1. Your answer is in bold

2. Send your transcript to intended unis or read the eligibility on each course.

Cigbojugha:
Good day all and happy new year.

Please I have some questions that I need to be clear about.

1. I graduated 2009 mechanical engineering and I wish to apply for masters for March batch. Will I be asked why the long gap and if yes, what us the best response for this.

2. I intend to study Information technology as masters. Will it be allowed since I didn't study any related course In IT. My second choice of course is international project management with placement.
My question now is between these two courses which will be best for me i UK considering my first degree in Engineering and some years of banking operations experience.

Pls help me make informed decisions.

It is a big risk fa. You can opt in for the walk in option and if you did not get your visa by 22nd, you can mail your school to request for more extension and state your reason clearly.

LaaJiblik:

Thanks for your response. It jadsnt been easy passing the credibility check bc of no previous histories with credits.
Many times, the landlords would t even be interested to debate on your ability to pay. They would even include affordability for the house usu between 20-24k earnings per year. It's been difficult settling in. I'm truly very distraught at the moment. Have been living from hotels to arbnb and I'm exhausted already!

If you were alone, there may be some way around it (such as flat shares) that don’t really care much about referencing.
But with dependants, it’s a completely different ball game, as you are probably aiming for a full property.

1. You don’t require a credit history to rent. You require credibility.
2. You must proof to a potential landlord that you have the funds to afford the rent.

3. Your best (and easiest bet) right now is to get a guarantor. Someone who will guarantee that you pay all rents as at when due.
The downside of this is that the guarantor will be required to show his/her financial ‘muscle’ and may sometimes involve a credit check (and many folks don’t like having hard credit checks on their files).

4. If you don’t have a guarantor, your next best (worst actually) bet may be to pay rent upfront for the duration of your tenancy contract.

5. You might get lucky (very rare) and connect to a landlord directly who will understand your plight. But this is very rare.
