J111333:The Yorubas that would have opposed to igbos' decision to have a security outfit are the Yorubas on nairaland and not the Yorubas that have a voice on issues |

Tyriq:If Sowore was Ibo he would still be in lockup. The reason he is out now is the difference in our legal weight. Some people are lightweight, some are midweight, some are heavyweight, Yoruba is superweight on the bench. |

toplinetrtrend:Which Yoruba has ever told Ibo not to have security outfit? Ipob is not a security outfit. Yoruba civil servants in Iboland will be persecuted if Ipob was not curtailed. Didn't Ipob issue an order to kill Pastor Kumuyi if he stepped foot in SE? Ipob said undignified things about Yoruba. So we were right to oppose it. This is not a tit for tat. If Ibo wants to oppose Amotekun they are free to, but it will be in vain. If political force like FG cannot stop it i cant see how a politically weak Ibo can. |

MelesZenawi:Says who? Go and disband it na. Until hisbah, sharia are sent to the dustbin, north or their mouthpieces either in government or online have no moral basis to demand disbandment of Amotekun. |

oyatz:Bro I know this shouldn’t be a tribal issue but you can agree with me that the guy is right? If this Amotekun was a SE thing the Yorubas would’ve rained insults on us and even urged the federal government to proscribe them and kill them on site, but now because it’s a SW thing they are forming fake love and drumming southern and middle belt support. |

tammie24:Abeg stop massaging your ego. If the army comes for anybody there is nothing those people can do. You don't have the terrain of the north, you don't have the fanatical ideology of the north, you don't have serious oil installations in the SW region. Trust me, if the army comes there they will level everything to the ground. You think your hunters are the only people with otherworldly powers? Even the soldiers do! Now let me tell you: the ONLY reason the FG is worried is because they don't want other regions to follow suit, not some fake charm. |

BabaRamota1980:Baba, so you wanna usurp the power of the police? Btw, the argument you posited was Hisbah protecting the Sharia customs of the North and not security in itself. Sorry to say you're being incoherent or hypocritical. |

this is actually directed to the person's comment you replied hogwishywashyly he at least seemed teachable. when Osinbajo was faced with a disagreement between Lagos state and the Federal Govt, he took them to court and won some freedom for the states. It is the Same Osinbajo that has repeatedly spoken out on the need for state policing and was instrumental in getting the traditional rulers involved first at a regional capacity in the southwest then afterward in a federal capacity with the President in attendance, which has seen a drastic reduction in the abductions and killings in the Southern half of the country from around Sept 2019. Tell your state attorney generals to seek redress in court just as the northerners did rather than exhibiting a lack of knowledge on national matters. HabaHaba: |

I thought the Yoruba people were the pioneers of unity in Nigeria. But the establishment of state security outfits goes against federal law. it is not today that we know the North rules the country, and governs the affair of the south with an iron fist. the South Easterners have been crying out about this since before 1967. But what did the Yoruba do? Nothing. They accuse the Igbo's of seccesion. when the Aburi accords was not about secession but establishing true federalism. what will the south Easterners do once the Feds term the SW amotekun illegal? nothing, that's what. we have watched and waited. Revenge is a dish best served cold. |

Cherez:You be proper mumu. You hear people talk about Sharia, you have no clue what it is and just begin shout Sharia up and down. For your information, Sharia is not a culture. Sharia is a jurisprudence, and you must enforce laws to sustain its creeds. My earlier statement stands since the person opposing it does not even understand the basis under which his opposition is given. |

Ojukwu warned the south - particularly Yorubas - of the long-term implication of allowing the North to grab power unchallenged in 1967. They branded him secessionist and ambitious. The chicken, after 50 years, is coming home to roost. Enjoy it! funmike83: |

I am damn sure that this amotekun group will deviate from the reason they are established. Politicians will start using them for as election rigging weapons. Just wait and see...... |
