Just yesterday or so the power Minister indicated we were to expect long hours of uninterrupted power supply!

GamalNasser:

Lies we recorded more power collapse under Fahosla ..since this man can I have been guaranteed 9 hours of light a day unlike useless heprs Fashola that couldn't guarantee me 3 hours

Bros, since this man became minister, we don't even have light for more than an hour in a day. Our area used to have close to 20 hours some Years ago.

It's just obvious, that there is no longer hope in this country. No one wants to bring a change, no one is even attempting to. Our fathers has failed us, but then, do we even trust our youths?

BTW where is Fashola?

Our grid is outdated, redundancies aren't put in place, una dey laugh, grid collapse doesn't mean that there is no generation of electricity, it means that the load is more than power available

Government can allow states generate power for their own use but cost will be too much, power plants to serve just enugu for instance will cost billions of naira, so our government prefers to build it small by small but population dey grow, building isn't meeting up, hopefully as more people go to school, less children will be born and generation will eventually catch up with consumption, to fix Nigeria power problem permanently will require our complete budget for 10 years straight

Fine sir. I think U are wrong

.

If they sale the transmission’s shares on NSE, they will race the money needed to fix the problem; and everyone will be benefited. I don’t known why all the energy and distribution company are hoarding the investment.

If only they gave our nation steady power supply in 16 years.

But slow and steady we are moving forward
gradually as a nation.
Slow and steady we will get to a New and better Nigeria.

If only democracy started with a man of integrity like President Muhammadu Buhari.....but unfortunately, it started with criminals, lootere and thieves burying money underground, inside latrines, on farms, using our money to buy jewelries worth BILLIONS.
While the nation is in darkness!
A nation that a sitting Vice President has the company that import the largest numbers of generators in different shapes and sizes,
how will they ever want us to have electricity?
Why won't they want us to remain in perpetual darkness!

A nation that the same Vice President and the sitting President both floated 2 private universities for themselves while the Federal and State Universities were on endless strikes!
Universities that they are still operating up till this present day!
There was a nation!

I knew this country is rotten from the core. Thank God I didn't make the mistake of thinking that things are getting better Even when we were experiencing relatively stable light recently. I knew it was just a mirage, a false reality, that deep down, the reality of things is that everything is just rotten. Since buhari of all people can lie to us like this, I promise myself not to ever attend any political rally or even vote, it's just really a complete waste of one's time and energy if you really think about it. Never believe any politician, they are all the same. They will all come with sweet promises and fail woefully to deliver those promises. My message to all who care to listen is to get out of this mess good for nothing country while you still can. It will never really be better. Get out and enjoy the best of what life has to offer. Get out and experience what it feels like to live with true 24/7 light, true unlimited broadband internet, true constant running pipe borne public water supply, true quality education and healthcare. Damn we are really missing alot in this country, we really are been lied to alot. I wonder if am the only one seeing hopelessness all around this country. Youths without jobs, public infrastructure decay, extremely disorganized society, insecurity, etc

most times collapse is caused when we use more than available power, so frequency drops nd wen it drops too much a collapse happen.
so fr a country were we don't hv enough power, collapse na normal tin

System collapse but by the time they would send electricity bills, one would wonder if he has a factory somewhere in his bedroom!

Since 1999 of Democracy till date, with numerous Ministers, expatriates and plenty billions of dollars spent, there has been nothing to be happy about.

Doesn't take 10 years to fix. More like 4 years but the problem isn't the money to fix it. The problem is the guarantees on returns on investment. We did better with zero infrastructure in the GSM sector and built up a non existent infrastructure in years. That worked because there was guarantees on returns. The power sector can't achieve that because it requires a functional society not the zoo we are in.

Most Nigerians believe free electricity is a birth right forgetting Electricity is a commodity that is traded. For a start the N21/kwh we are paying is absolutely horrible and unsustainable for big businesses to invest in the power sector. Secondly there are a million houses and government agencies owing thousands of Naira in fees that DISCOs can't even reach or try disconnecting.

You know why MTN paras when there is a free data cheat? Because it is a huge loss of revenue for them if it
is left unchecked and they would go bankrupt because of that.

Forget people shouting prepaid meters. Some Nigerians are greedy lots and they would try and game the system. A private firm cannot police every single house and sadly the Govt legislation is poor as regards such thefts. Sadly those people are in the majority and there's no way any sane investor would put money into such a biz. For GSM I could remotely turn off your call function if you can't pay but for electricity, except you are physically present to take control of such which brings in the elements of enforcement and trust which is non existent in the Nigerian environment. Exactly why NITEL also never succeeded and water or gas lines aren't functional in Nigeria.
