Study your boss well, read the inner meanings of her communication. I bet you she just wants to know if your comments where genuine, so she knows next action.

Very funny situation and shows how Africans think! My European boss sends us his pictures each time he is out of the country and he expects us to compliment him always. Last time we told him he looks like a teenager and that compliment made his entire day lol nawa for Nigerians.

The thing is, there's a lot of apprehension between Bosses and their household workers now.. Last week , I joined one of the madam in her car since she stays close by, she went with another top madam, while I sat in front with the driver, they gossiped in their local dialect but I could hear them.

Most of the discussion were more about how they need to be careful about who they let into their homes, they shared many stories of cleaners, electricians and other artisans who come into homes of wealthy people with intentions to kidnap their kids, steal or even harm their bosses.

Most have set up cctv camera in their homes and keep a very long distance between them and their workers e to not share valuable info.

If she's the type, she may find your compliments disturbing and wonder where you had the audacity to say it. She may also doubt your intentions working for her.

There's nothing unprofessional about complimenting your boss' looks, especially when you use choose your words carefully. "you look good ma" doesn't have any sexual undertone. So it's not inappropriate. Only problem is if he constantly compliments her. Occasionally complimenting one's boss isn't wrong if it's done 'once in a while'.

You obviously have not worked in a proper corporate organization.
You should never ever ever make comments/compliments about how your Boss looks, it's unprofessional and inappropriate within a corporate setting. You can only complement your boss or colleagues for that matter, on their performance, leadership or other areas pertaining to official duties.
