That is because he receive more subvention from the government than other federal universities
Almost all northern universities are cheap, cause they are trying to encourage their people to apply. They don't receive anything more than the southern universities.

Nigeria is not that bad.

Let’s convert this money to USD and see how small the money is.

We Nigerians always complain about everything.

According to the ASUU FG 2009 agreement, for there to be adequate funding of the universites, the budget for universites alone has to be somewhere around 3-4 trillion naira. (assuming both federal and state universites are included.

No government, past or present, has been able to budget 3 trillion naira for universites.

So, universites have to get creative raising fees...and acceptance fees are the way forward.

If you don't like it, the alternative is that Government takes half your salary in taxes for educational funding...among others, and raises VAT to 19%. That's what countries like Sweden and Germany sacrifice for free education.

Those commenting that university is not for everyone aren't thinking right. Since the economy isn't good enough, government ought to alleviate the suffering of the masses. If the country is good enough both its citizens and foreigners will attest to that.

Uniabuja fees in this report is inaccurate. Acceptance fee is N30,000 from N10,000
Tuition fees is N54,500 from N32,500
Hostel fees is N15,000

Highly insensitive.

Everybody must not be a university graduate!

Why are people just mad at making sure their children 'graduate '?

Within the current context, how many of our graduates are much better?

How many have been employed? For those employed, how many earn more than 40,000 a month?

Sometimes I feel emotions and peer pressure make people go after the wrong priorities in Nigeria.
