Good post.However, I would like to add a few points as per the bolded.

- Tax are very similar in most advanced countries. On average, tax is similar in Canada and Norway, but if you take the fact that most people live in the provinces shown below, then tax could be higher than in Canada. See the image below for someone earning $100k in the listed countries.

- Unlike Australia, pay is not that great in Canada, and it's an expensive country to live in. It is common knowledge in Canada that if you want a very good pay, you head to the USA. Not sure of how the US is living in past glory

- In Canada, careers in those listed professions i.e Petroleum, Geosciences or Chemical Engineering, in the petroleum industry are struggling due to the oil burst since 2014. It's been 6 years now of low oil price and Canada has one of the most difficult oil to refine in the world. It is similar to the deposit in Ondo State (bitumen).
