How is everyone doing?

Ok I have this challenge it seem to be electrical, my vehicle C320 4matic 2005 started showing the alternator sign visit work shop, but despite this the car still starts, so I decided to change the engine belt as the present one was worn out. Since I changed it the alternator sign hasn't come up again but I notice the dash board lights blinks, including the headlights and inside lights. Also recently on attempt to start the vehicle it kicks but wont start at 1st attempt but starts in the second this doesn't happen frequently though. I have been checking videos on youtube to check for the possible cause so I decided to bring it up here for possible advice/solution. Thanks for any useful tips.

I suspect you have a short-circuit somewhere; if you recently worked on the car. Check for live wires or lose connections.
Also check the wire that supplies current to Ur starter motor if it's touching the engine or not properly insulated.

Thanks, I took the car to ladipo and the rewire said my car battery is calling for a replacement.

Please I just made the jump from Corolla to a c300. Can anyone recommend a reliable mechanic on the mainland?
Nothing is wrong at the moment, I just want to have someone to call if anything goes wrong.
Tips on what to look out for are welcome too, it's an 09 model and Benz is uncharted waters for me.

Good day @blackfm. I think we in same shoes. I just made a switch from a Corolla to a c300 4matic. Would be nice to share contacts so we could share experiences. Thanks.

I know lol, I actually have a scanner, it's not throwing any codes.
For now I want to service and I don't want just anyone touching it. I reckon a Benz mech would be more knowledgeable on the right filter and Mobil 1 weight to use.
I checked online for the oil weight but I'm getting conflicting info, some say 5w30, some say 0w40. I dont want to make an uninformed choice

Some folks here have been comparing Toyota with Benz, it is totally wrong, I have seen people made that erronous position, it is like comparing domestic cat with a cheetah, Yes they all are felines but we know cheetah aint no walkover...I have seen Amudimkpa and others tell them about Toyota and why they cant and have never won a F1 which is the creame del la creme of auto...in short F1 racing is what defines a brand in car...Toyota is a car for everone but Benz is a car for niche, it aint all all commers affair.

Now read

Panasonic Toyota Racing was a Formula One team owned by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation and based in Cologne, Germany. Toyota announced their plans to participate in Formula One in 1999, and after extensive testing with their initial car, dubbed the TF101, the team made their debut in 2002. The new team grew from Toyota's long-standing Toyota Motorsport GmbH organisation, which had previously competed in the World Rally Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Despite a point in their first-ever race,[2] Toyota never won a Grand Prix, their best finish being 2nd position, which they achieved five times.

Toyota drew criticism for their lack of success, as they never managed to win with one of the sport's biggest budgets. Toyota was a well-funded team, but despite this, strong results had never been consistent.

On 4 November 2009, Toyota announced its immediate withdrawal from Formula One, ending the team's involvement in the sport after eight consecutive seasons.

Now Benz

Mercedes-Benz, through its subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited, is currently involved in Formula One as a constructor under the name of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The team is based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom, using a German licence.Mercedes-Benz competed in the pre-war European Championship winning three titles and debuted in Formula One in 1954, running a team for two years. The team is also known by their nickname, the "Silver Arrows".

Mercedes has become one of the most successful teams in recent Formula One history, having achieved consecutive Drivers' and Constructors' Championships from 2014 to 2019. In 2014, Mercedes managed 11 one-two finishes beating McLaren's 1988 record of 10. The record was extended the following year with 12 one-two finishes. Mercedes also collected 16 victories in 2014 and 2015 apiece breaking McLaren (1988) and Ferrari's (2002, 2004) record of 15. In 2016, they extended this record with 19 wins.

We must be guided...comparing Toyota with Benz is comparing Cavier with Groundnuts...please dont do that.
