Criminals disguised in many forms are all out to distract our amiable president. Why should he resign? Someone tell us because these old fools are here to create unnecessary distractions again.

Old lazy fools.
Look we are not complaining the way Mr President is handling issues, no reasonable Nigerian will ever complain except lazy Nigerians who want everything free and are looking for ways to loot our economy dry again.
Please guys respect yourselves o before I defend on you!
I will never allow Mr President to resign

Don't mind them. They think they can just say "bubu resign", and bubu will resign. If they had such powers, would they not be saying "manna be on my table" and my belly will full, or "let there be light", and NEPA!?

Lazy fuqs, all of them, who want to reap without sowing, as if their salvation is by grace and they need do no work.

Buhari needs to work in a direction in which security, economic prosperity and welfare of the citizenry will be ensured. Leadership isn't about occupying an office aimlessly but by succeeding in delivering on the promises which made the electorates to prefer one politician over another.

If a leader cannot cope or fails in achieving this, what is he waiting for?

We ignorantly get it from our messiah doctrine, unfortunately, that a messiah will come from heaven to save us by grace. We disregard the bit that tells us to take up our own very heavy cross and follow!

What specific work do you think our president want us to do? We are ready!

Our leadership is our God, our Jesus, our Bible our Koran, our learning, our understanding, our education, our belief (so far as we have first tested it), our rubbing of minds together on here, and our ability to use our brains to reason and think! We are not lemmings who will blindly follow any one, as you can clearly see.

And our President wants us to fight corruption, to start with, and choosing just one thing! As in corruption in our own individual understanding of things, and corruption in our own actions. Its like fighting satan. If we kill satan in our souls satan will die in our communities. If we are not individually corrupt, corruption will die!

We are not ready, Shade (though, honestly, I think you might be!). Forgive me for using Biblespeak, but we must seek first the Kingdom of God (as in, understand how things would be in a Kingdom ruled by God), and then will all other things (the Wisdom required to create that Kingdom), follow.

Please those not conversant with me in the Religious section forgive me for Biblespeaking. No God is coming from heaven to save us. We must go up the mountain and work for our salvation ourselves, with the Logos that we have all acquired!

But things never work like that in any community/country. If you know any where leadership isn't as important as everybody just working, let me know.?

I think because you don't live in Nigeria, you cannot see that the purchasing power in the last five years has dropped. Insecurity in the last five years has multiplied. Success has not been achieved in curving corruption, suicides have multiplied because of hopelessness. Nepotism and tribalism has increased tremendously. No! You don't see this daily happening around you.

The electorates are deliberately kept in poverty and lack of education so that they don't even know what they want from the government. A sum of N3500 is enough for them to sell their votes to elect a governor for the next four years etc Unemployment is at its highest, heavy foreign loans have been taken with nothing really to show for it.

The Government of GEJ has been made to look less incompetent by the new Government. They promised too much and they seem to have failed in most respect.

Religion is not necessary for equity and performance in governance. Chairman Mao of China has shown us that leadership is key to governance. Mahathir of Malaysia has shown us.

Talking about this on Nairaland is a good step in the right direction. People are criticizing the government and giving suggestions of the way out. With time, a new national consciousness will evolve.

Even if I do not live in Nigeria, do you think my people back home would not make me feel it with the increase in their demand for money? Please don't make me have to cry to you about their demands, lol.

I was home during GEJ's time running my farm. If I asked them to come work for me at higher than the going rate, they refuse because if they went to stand outside the local government chairman's house he will give them 10 times what I will pay them. Hard working people were earning in a month what lazy fuqs were receiving in a day just for yelling rankadede! But where were these politicians getting the money from, nobody asked! From $150 a barrel of crude oil, of course. Money was so plenty that instead of hiring Joseph to advise them to save during the 7 years of plenty, my people were saying "a ti owo ẹni, a ti owo ẹni ẹlẹni, ki Ọlọrun ma fi kan wọn wọn” - their own money or another person's money, God give them either, with no care where it came from. Now, 7 years of scarcity has started, and you expect me to have sympathy?

Of course purchasing power has gone down, and all those things are happening! But how else would people who lived on rankadede survive when a barrel of crude oil is a third what it was and the person paying them the money has been arrested by EFCC? Do you seriously think we can be putting so much money in ghanamustgo and soakaways and not rue the rewards of our fraud, corruption and incompetence?

No, religion is not necessary. Proper understanding is, and of whatever our ideology is, and of our situation moreso. Unfortunately, we are not Mao's China nor Mahathir's Malaysia, and we are not going to be anytime soon until we understand how we ourselves are the devils who create the hell that we currently live in and decide to make it a heaven full of angels instead, with, as you say, "a new national consciousness". And yes, it begins by questioning so that we may gain understanding and demand better rule instead of selling our vote for ₦3500.

By the way, its for less that ₦1000 in my home town these days! Money don scarce!

We actually have a collapsed system and structure. When people have known by experience that hardwork doesn't pay. Justice is not for the righteous. Nothing works unless you know someone...what do you expect.

Interestingly, this same Nigerians do well in countries with good structures. The average Nigerian in USA, Canada or anywhere in Europe seems to be law abiding and works harder than they would have when they were in Nigeria because Government has established good structures that can function independently as if on autopilot.

I am happy that people are talking about it: let's pray that out of the chaos will come out our Jehu to sanitize the system. Until then, we'll keep talking!

Why do you think the mods would remove it? Is it because it might not be true?

Sorry, but this does not convince me of anything, though that's not to say I don't know crimes happen in Nigeria! The topic you gave it is suspicious to begin with, and like the publisher's, is designed to manipulate emotions! And the woman herself is like listening to a testimony of a healing in church, and I just don't believe anything I hear with no evidence to support it!

So, convince me. Give me names, places so I can research it myself. I'm sure there must be a police report somewhere.

See here the sort of manipulation I speak of. It is a well known marketing, sales and propaganda tactic which is why one must be skeptical.

Please stop! I, am a farmer. My land is close to water where grass grows so cattle rearers come there to fatten their cattle. They even come on my land and eat my cassava, so this is not something I need to read lazy anecdotal reports in newspapers to know anything about!

Just think. These cattle rearers have to move their cattle around in our villages and through our farms. Do you seriously think Yoruba people are so spineless that we will know that these same herdsmen are kidnapping and raping our people and we would not enter bush that is on our land and go and do festival with them and their cattle? Does that not make you wonder, or do you think we are so afraid of dying?

You will recall that I called you to this thread specifically because of our discussion regarding work. And I've mentioned corruption in our own individual understanding of things, and corruption in our own actions. Corruption in our understanding is when we have not been sceptical enough and claim that things we know barely nothing about are true. And work is what we do when it is said that we have used our heart and soul and mind to delve into things to ascertain the truth instead of being lazy and just believing whatever we hear.

Now think. You already pointed out that there are no jobs. So explain to me what you think unemployable me, even if there were jobs, would do when there are no jobs? Is it not likely that I turn arm robber? And if I were Yoruba, would I not camouflage myself as say Fulani, so I am not easily detected especially since I know you are already gullibly quick to call me Fulani herdsman even when you see nor smell no cow? Don't you think I could possibly be smart enough to utter some words that make you think I am indeed Fulani even though for all you know I could be speaking Spanish?

I can assure you that dem never born the fulani herdsman to come to the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun to come and be rearing cattle on our land and then be raping and kidnapping my people. As we say, "kini a fi oro se ni ilẹ wa?" And I bet you that the Orolu Kingdom is not unique in doing oro!

It's okay to speak from a distance about matters that touch the bones of some people.

A relative of mine was kidnapped by these herdsmen early last year. They asked for a Ransome of N15m, it was negotiated down to N700,000 on the guise that her mother is a widow (which was true). The police told us to comply when the matter was reported. The negotiator was abducted by the same kidnappers. The institution where this my sister works had to pay N2m apiece for the two of them. They scraped her hair and beat her daily so that her cries of despiration would move us to raise the money. She spent about 10 days before she was released.

The police did not care one bit even after the Ransome was paid. Till today a year after, we are just thanking God that she wasn't raped or killed. The perpetrators are Fulani men. They have camps in the bush where over 23 Nigerians are kidnapped and Ransome is being negotiated. They are well armed with assault rifles. Only one or two of them can speak English. They switch between Hausa and Fulfude depending on whom they are speaking with.

The situation is more real than you think. I told you that the murder of Fasoranti's (a big politician) daughter is the catalyst that brought about Amotekun.

I disagree that it is "okay to speak from a distance about matters that touch the bones of some people"! One must check one's facts before speaking or one may be telling lies. Read your touch bone narative yourself.

You claim the "perpetrators are Fulani herdsmen", but you neither saw a herd, nor know that they had a herd. Nor did those who witnessed the kidnapping see a herd! And when your relative was released, a herd had absolutely nothing to do with it! And you admit that "They switch between Hausa and Culture depending on whom they are speaking with". Could they not also have switched between Yoruba and Igbo "depending on whom they were speaking with"?

Be truthful shade. A relative of your's was kidnapped by these herdsmen early last year. You haven't got a clue if they were Fulani herdsmen!

So, until then. Peace.
