Chief this is a clear issue of not enough pollens pollinating the female plants. Don’t worry some ones will come out straight. I guess you planted a pf. Don’t worry. Use your trellis they will stand don’t let anyone make you fell you’ve failed. Don’t be triad you’ve failed cause you have not. If it’s white fly and you’re flowering spray atara just after Wetting and wet three days after. If it’s fungi buy ridomil gold copper or buy ridomil gold and mix with Redford.
thank you king for your kind word.
how often should I spray fungicide

I’ll advice you to please don’t listen to most of the people on this forum I can only vouch for Okoroemeka and google image search. Ive read through the reasons they gave for bent fruit and even saw some post saying your farm is dead, please don’t listen to them. Nairaland is a crazy place. I’m just getting in had a busy day harvesting with a colleague and s/he harvested 2 bags of these bent fruit and we had already done research on this and knew it was because of lack of pollen, moving forward today a doc (phd) holder in agric came to inspect the farm while the harvest was going on and asked us what caused the fruits to Bend and his answer wasn’t different from our research. See farming isn’t that complex it isn’t rocket science continue your practice but stop spraying systemic insecticide move to atara it tackles whiteflies and spray every ten days use more of the yellow board trap for whiteflies. Please I beg you don’t listen to most Nairalanders they’re really loco, some are Gardners not farmers. You’re good with your cukes come back and thank me later after you’ve confirmed the cause of the bent fruits. Shallom.
Haters please note I’ve two personalities a viper and a bunny chose wisely before you mention me with insults on my thread. grin
thanks boss.
I use systemic insecticide, I will switch as you advise

See I dont like interfering much on peoples work, but honestly if I were you I'd discard that farm at this rate.. lofarm is saying what you're experiencing is due to lack of pollen.. hes not wrong.. but at same time your cucumbers are malnourished and infected.. once the damage from whiteflies are done on your farm there is no reversal for this damage.. any other thing you do will just be waste of time, money and effort.. I've seen a 1 acre pepper farm damaged by whiteflies only after few months of harvest.. theres no cure to the virus they infect your plant with.. so it is up to you whether you discard the plants and start all over again.. or you go on a fruitless effort to bring it back to life.. but If you ask me, this is a lost race..

In general the problem you're having is lack of good management.. Goodluck

that's exactly what I'm saying.. If you think it's still worth fighting for..then continue the good race. If infected cucumbers are few, prune them off.. and make sure you spray insecticides only in the evening.. never spray insecticides at noon time.. I have pepper transplant to do later today

Atara is a contact insecticide but don’t use it often use it like every ten days or Better still spray insecticide immediately after harvest.

Lol grin hater alert I don’t know what you’re doing on my thread

Bye tongue
E dey pain am.
Liftitupo:
Find pistotita's thread and read the mixtures of fertilizer. If you find favor and he replies you, thank your God.M if you plant Murano, monalisa and those in their category and you do not know how to prepare soil and feed very high to not go off ph limit, you will experience curve fruits, bad fruits, diseases. You will keep blaming pollination like Mr. I too Know all who is a first timer. Read the thread and see people who abused him stsrt giving his recommendations later, but they will not say it is from him. I asked him one day, he said he does not reply new monikers when a friend of my friend sent him message and no reply. He said over 70% of those who abuse him open new accounts to get help and the ones he still did not attend to, run craaaaaaazy more. Lofarms is one of such if you follow his posts. Read his posts and you will see his frustrations. I am leaving his thread also so you can see Mr. I too know blame pollens and bees. He will soon blame devil.
Re: First 1 Acre Cucumber Farm In Ogun State Diary by Nobody:
grin comprehension issues as earlier stated. Do they harvest cukes on the 32nd day!)huh Muranohuh? Huh!? Read you won’t die from it.
Liftitupo:
You will understand it better when you are ready to learn and not trying hard to discredit pisto. If you doubt it, try it and watch, not read on internet and dump here for others to verify. I believe Lofarms mixed marketer and murano the way he has been shouting or any two kinds. Yet, he said he is having pollen issue now. God bless pisto whereever he is. You will soon know why we call him encyclopedia and professor of crop farming in Nigeria. Big farms are desperately trying to work with, including Tomato Jos. We that know him personally, know him. Many people with farms have consulted him on nairaland yet no one can say he was wrong. If you find favor with him and he follows you up and you follow him bumper to bumper to do all he says, you will see miracle. Let us all keep watching.

Hmmm. My brother, hit the restart button like I told you. It is not worth reviving. Don't let any one deceive you into thinking you can walk you way out off this. The truth may sound bitter, but is it worth expending such capitals any further on this project knowing fully well what you'll get from it is just a few cukeshuh

I am in the very fact encouraging you. Fertilizer I repeat is the least of your problem sir. Cucumbers don't just spring back to life Oga mi. Start afresh and enjoy get back all you've lost.

NB. I already replied you in the other thread. This may in fact be my last response in here.

One love

What can be done Is invest more on fertiliser, try to improve on your management skill, and start all over... also next time.. only spray insecticides in the evening

Google manure tea , know how it’s done 2 to 4kg per knapsack
Get your fertilizer soak it in water (the same amount you use) then put 300grams into your sixteen liter knapsack
Ridomil gold copper or ridomil gold plus red force (follow me instructions)
Atara
Mix all the mentioned in a knapsack and spray every 4 to 5 days.

Remember to follow the instructions on the manure tea it could burn your farm if the concentration is too much also applies to the fertilizer.

If you drop this project now you’ll never know how it feels like to finish and you’ll keep on dropping projects. Giving up is a lazy mans excuse for failure. I can give you that for free.
Then please try and consult google more than in this place , you’ll get answers that aren’t myopic in nature. Good luck.

I’m going to take a break for 4 days from this handle, I joins my neighbor in harvesting yesterday for the first time and bro the work no be for here.
We got to mile 12 around some minutes past 9.
The current price for a bag is 5k to 6k
I won’t disclose how many bags cause I’m not in the position to do that.

What I learnt is keep a transport vehicle at hand , a couple of them
Secondly strictly for Lagos market, have contacts of various vegetable farmers.

Day #32 mixture of Murano and Marketer
The plants are on steriods
Weeding has been completed
Couple of flowers
Marketer already has flowers planted it five days before Murano
Trellis nets have been placed
Cycled chemical application, fertilizer and manure
We are counting days.
Watch this space.
No pictures didn’t have the time to visit my farm.

Npk 15.15.15 has been banned??.. this is news to me,
Besides at this fruiting stage, you dont need npk.. next time go for foliar fertiliser, e.g DIgrow, maxiforce etc
Foliar Fertilizer are just appetizer not real food.

Structural fertilizer must be used for better result, weekly

Spray every week if you can..
Please have you farmed cucumber before?

If you're a full time farmer and you have whitefly infestation, you need to do continuous spraying till you get rigid of them.

Tokyo
I mixed manure with the soil before planting
I have problem with white flies. I use yellow cardboard trap and I spray insecticide weekly
the success of a cucumber farm in the middle of a dry harmattan season starts from the seed,it is now obvious that Tokyo is not meant for the dry season, also the issue of curved fruits are more prevalent during dry season,WHY?dry season comes with high population of crazy insects that cannot survive during rainy season and in turn the poor frustrated farmer will fire up his knapsack to blast them away with a concoction of different insecticides, which creates another problem, the dry season with bush burning and inhospitable environment has reduced the population of benefical insects and the farmer on a quest to rid his farm of whiteflys and leafminers kills off most of the few remaining beneficial insects causing poor pollination and bent fruits ,for you to recover anything from that farm, first remove all infected yellow leafs and dispose properly, look for ridomil gold copper or redforce mix with foliar fertilizer and spray, forget about insecticide and white fly you can't win the battle, apply npk 201010 with urea and irrigate well,if you are using hose apply manure also because the hose pressure will leach away the npk in no time, spray every 4-5 days if possible to clear away the infection.
