From Bike Rider to Uber Driver

Linda Akachukwu-Paul, a Gokada rider, an undergraduate student.

According to her, she said she earned 20k daily riding. She was so frustrated and disappointed because of the ban of Okada in Lagos.

Kokun foundation saw her interview and searched for her. He just gifted her a Toyota Corolla for Uber.

Guess what? I have seen Sandra who ride gokada who collected as Hire purchase but unfortunately she can’t drive it again due to government ban!

But, God as prove himself, Today we Dash sandra a new Toyota Corolla 2004 for Uber to sustain her to feed herself, family and also use it to send her self to school in Yabatech!

Seems this Okada work was lucrative o. 20k daily translates to about 400k monthly if she works 5 days a week. That is what graduates earn in a year in white collar jobs. Seems blue collar jobs is the way to go.

Most of the stories you read on Social media are either outright lies or have been massively tweaked and sensationalized.

No be only 20k per day, it's 10k per hour. How many people use gokada in Lagos to start with? Not when you can walk out of your gate In most areas and see plenty of bikes without the stress of having to hail one via internet.

Unless she is saying she does multiple round trips from Badagry to Ajah daily, ain't no way she is making close to that.
