Re: Jiji Fake Buyers And Inquiries by nutripot: 8:39pm On Feb 05, 2020
Jiji is rubbish. They send their staffs to call you and pretend as buyers for what you advertised then next a staff will call and start pressurizing you to buy premium ad.

Bloody criminals!

South Africa did us strong things by killing OLX in west Africa.

JIJI HAS ALWAYS LOOKED LIKE SCAM TO ME.

From day 1 jiji was a scam. Imagine that time jiji would post a 2008 rav4 car with price of 800k to lure you to their site!

I hope a better brand comes

Jiji is good....am a user and I've sold well there.
Any activity online requires skill and intelligence.
U can sell well on jiji without even paying for ad.
They call me often but I told them am not interested... because I know how to place my ad on recent search.....just often renew, or edit and repost.

I also know how I search when I wano buy....even if ur ad is far behind...I can find u.

Op..Asper the points u raised above...I think it's just a way of verification from jiji.

Thanks....my 5 cent.

It's the cheapest 2008 rav4 on Jiji (₦ 1,300,000).

They advertise cars with low prices, just to refer you to their sites. When you click the ad, you don't see the pictures again

Price was normal.

Pictures super clear.

The thing is, I don't trust the jiji peeps as it appeared that only boosted ads gets seen. That's not really a good business model.

I don't get it bro. In fact there was a time I was beginning to believe my village people are against me cuz I don't even receive calls again.. Lol.

Truth is, those boosting their ads Now on jiji is too much and imagine when someone search for anything and boosted ads will fill page one and even page two of the search on jiji.

That's the problem.

When I saw that OLX is going, it was a blow.

But when I saw that Jiji bought them off, I knew something is fishy.

Jiji didn't get the inventory of OLX as they claim. It was a blatant lie. It was just a marketing strategy.

Since OLX is going, let make good use of it... Lol.

Could you give some examples?? As an example, this car https:///lekki-phase-1/cars/toyota-rav4-limited-v6-4x4-2008-gray-zSIKxJWg9BfJt9YWRfadgQcv.html is still active and with low price.

Why do think that OLX was better then Jiji? Is it only because OLX hadn't any paid ads?

Are u a Jiji agent? Why defending them?

Read my comments. I said the prices changes to normal when you visit their site

I don't defend them, I'm trying to understand why are you so angry for them?

I read your comments but I don't understand how price can change on their website. I have one theory that the seller could sell his car and closed his advert or seller increased/decreased the price.
These cars are not theirs, sellers control items.

no no no

Far from that. OLX was real. Am telling you that.

And OLX also had paid ads but their algorithm was wonderful.

It was balanced and great.

It will be ok if the boosted ads are what you are looking for. Imagine searching for lithium batteries and seeing boosted ads for i-pass-my-neighbour generators! They are just so fixated on only showing boosted ads that non boosted ads, even though relevant don't get to be shown. Do you know that AliExpress shows ads? Compare this HDD search on AliExpress shown below

Then you can see why many may never get to like to use jiji

My dear,

Use your imagination.

Imagine searching something on Google and see boosted ads on Google till 50th page.

How will you feel?

Cuz if Google is as stupid as jiji is, and suffice it to say, millions of people are advertising on Google, then it will only be boosted ads to 50th page.

So tell me, how will google be today?

Personally I’m disappointed at the platform.

They canceled my ads stating that customers complained of not getting me by phone.

Now I know it’s them calling.

Bunch of unprofessional and soon to be unemployed hacks.

They are it again, I posted an ad for a Lexus Rx 350 2015 on the first week of February, a lady called me that same week stating her interest and I told her it's still available, I gave her directions, she promised me that we'll see on 4pm that same day, she stood me up.
Now another lady just called me now with Jiji number that she will see me tomorrow, after I gave her directions to mile 2 I asked her she is a Jiji staff, because the first time pained me( I made the security man in the car park wait till 6:30pm), she said no, she isn't, so I said "so If I call you later your number will work" she said yes. I ended the call, I called her again and it's the same message I keep hearing "voicemail disabled for this extension" and then the call cuts.

If there is a good online car store for Nigeria that isn't Jiji or carmart.ng or autochek, I'm open to posting my ad on it.

Their customers care/fake buyers numbers are usually identical.

You just noticed? They do a lot of fake enquiries when you subscribe for their premium packages, it's all fake.

The aim is to give you the impression your paid ad is reaching clients and then they ask you to subscribe more to get more "fake" clients

Once you pay for their "top ad" or "premium boost", you'll notice an artificial increase in the number of views, chats and phone number views. At times they will even take a step forward and put in some fake calls, but you'll never get an inspection, they'll stand you up
