A former governor of Imo State , Emeka Ihedioha , on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to set aside its January 14 judgment that sacked him and declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress the duly elected governor of the state .
Ndukwe Nnawuchi , SAN, who served as the state Attorney -General during Ihedioha’ s short- lived administration, disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
Nwawuchi said Ihedioha and the PDP filed an application before the apex court , asking it to set aside the January 14 judgment “ on grounds of nullity” .
He said , “ The election of March 9, 2019 , was challenged in the election tribunal where the judgment was delivered in Ihedioha’ s favour .

“ The matter went to the Court of Appeal which affirmed the tribunal ’ s judgment. The matter went for further appeal to the Supreme Court which reversed the judgments of the lower courts.
“ After the January 14 verdict , Ihedioha and the PDP put together a team of lawyers to study the judgment. That team has studied the judgment and has advised accordingly.
“ Following the advice, Ihedioha and the PDP instructed the team of lawyers to approach the Supreme Court with an application to set aside the judgment .
“ I want to officially inform you that this afternoon, the lawyers filed an application in the Supreme Court, urging it to set aside the January 14 judgment.
“ The relief being sought is on grounds of nullity. Details have been canvassed in the application . The court will look at the argument and make a decision one way or the other ”

The fact remains that Hope will do far better than Emeka


That's how Anambra got their break through , Ngige did his best to convince Anambra people , which is almost the same position Hope is now.

Emeka might got his mandate back later when Hope might have pushed to state to a better direction , cos Emeka was clueless, he started poorly !!!

This man is still in pain. His Lawyers are continuing to mislead him. Ihedioha's lawyers are the worst when it comes to election petition. They did a very bad infact a worstest job at the supreme Court. Since there is no return leg for supreme Court hearing, Ihedioha and co will continue to lick their wounds.

I taught the Supreme Court is the apex court and its judgement overrides that of the lower court.

Supreme court under Tanko whose area of specialization is the sharia law, is a mockery of the judiciary.

make this guy allow uzodinma sef do 6 months then apply for supreme court to sack am nah.... nah so both of them go do 6-6 months till 4 years complete, no cheating.

Your case is status barred.It is beyond 180 days allowed in the constitution.It us just an academic exercise in futility.All you needed was given in the Jan14 judgement.God will not forgive lawyers who are just wasting your time and money again for nothing will remove Hope as the governor for the next for years.

The fact is that the judgement is a big disgrace to the Judiciary and the executive and the backlash from the international community is already giving this government sleepless nights.

Which investor will like to come to a country whose supreme court can be subjected to political manipulation?

Which reasonable country will give loan to Nigeria with the present judiciary anarchy?

Nigetia is already feeling the heat of this unusual judgement and I will not be surprised if it is reversed.

The judges in their hurry to pass a pervert judgement failed to take note of obvious discrepancy in the total number of registered voters and total number of votes. What a shame?

If the supreme Court should reverse, then all it's justices are incompetent and the court should be renamed " Supreme appeal court". All similar past judgements should spring up for reappealing too.

What he's asking for is a review of the fundamental errors committed by Supreme Court where the total number of votes cast is higher than the total number of registered voters in IMO state,

Supreme Court or supreme scam scored an own goal in that hatchet judgement,

It must be correct becos 1+1 must be 2 and not 4,hope u guys making noise will understand
