Hello All

I am new to this thread.
I previously applied for a canadian TRV visa with biometrics and was granted.
But i never used the visa due to various reasons.
I was living abroad then and it seems the system of application is different from nigeria.
I need some enlightenement.
I wish to reapply for the visa again later this year.
I have considerable travel history to europe, asia,USA etc,

hello guys, i have a challenge. My uncle calls me out of the blues that he will be visiting Canada with his family (wife and 3 kids- they have extensive travel history including US and some european companies) and that he will like to include me on the application. He then follows through by requesting my docs. i sent him my passport data page, SOA, letter of introduction by my office, Family info form, application form, etc. Recently, he told me the docs have been submitted and we will go for biometrics soon. However, my biggest headache now is that, out of curiosity, i typed his name on google and his name props up with a news headline with his name being mentioned in a contract bid fraud with a major international bank. The accusation was that he misrepresented his company's experience of doing the same job. He didnt tell me this all along. now i dont even know if he used my name as
the principal applicant or not, hes really secretive about this application. Remember application has been submitted just awaiting biometrics. Pls what do you advise i do, i dont want to be banned because of this.

On the one hand, It could be nothing. On the other hand, he now has everything he needs to do 'bad things' (e.g., identity fraud) using your data. Given the red flags you already noted (calling out of the blue, history of bid fraud, etc.), you might want to research protecting yourself against such. Get your courage up and tell him you have had other plans come up and wish to withdraw your application; that may prompt more information from him as to whether you are the principal applicant and therefore he cannot withdraw your application. If you start getting requests from him to pay multiple 'fees' in support of the visa issuance, you know what that means. If you decide not to do anything (fear of offending him, etc.) and you eventually hear the visa was denied, insist on getting the GCMS notes to find out exactly what is going on. However, you should ideally take charge of your destiny and take action, long before then; rather than wait for things to 'happen' to you. You will need to know how to do that, to be successful in life long term.

you can apply again, nothing changes and If you given biometrics in the last 10 years for a visitor visa, work permit, or study permit and they’re still valid, you don’t have to give them again if you’re applying to visit, work, or study.

Confront him straight up. Tell him about the information you found on google. Explain to him that if that information is available on Google then it is also available to IRCC. Tell him to withdraw his application and first of all clear his name if he hasn't done so.

The biometrics fee will be refunded if biometrics is not done.

If i decide not to attend the biometrics, what about the information already submitted during the application.
Will this info (if false info was submitted by my uncle) be stored in their database even without doing the biometrics capture?

I just got this after sending mail to VFS....

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for writing to VFS Global Canada, Nigeria.

Kindly be informed that your processed Passport has been returned to the embassy on the 16/09/2019 after staying 30 days in the vac and we have sent you mails and calls but no reply. Please send the Canada embassy an e- mail at lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca with a request to retrieve back your package,

Embassy will give you an appointment (date/time) to collect the packages.

.My question is that the application was submitted since 28th of October laat year with series of VFS office visitation, all they say is that it's under processing, for them to now say they have been calling and sending mail is what is baffling me....

Was it that the application was cancelled or what?

My friend just received the biometrics validity letter today for his January application. Is it usual for you to get a final decision soon after the biometrics letter and, from past trends, what is the usual decision - approval or rejection?

I noticed from the letter that his application is being processed at the London office.

My application was refused and to my surprise the whole process was too fast. I submitted January 14 went for bioMetric the third day. Today I got an email that my application was refused. With this nonsense generic response “
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.“

This was just too fast.

How do I Request for GCMS note.

Oh wow... I'm sorry to hear you were refused the visa. If you know someone in canada you can apply for your gcms notes here: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do
You'd have to give them consent to apply on your behalf. There's a form you can also find on the link.

If you dont have anyone in Canada, you can apply through some private companies. I don't know a lot about them so I'd leave it for the experts..

Did you also get the Correspondence letter for biometrics validity?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Predera: 12:46am On Feb 06, 2020
My joy knows no bounds. I submitted paper application for TRV on 20/12/2019, received biometric validity letter on 28/01/2020. On 03/02/2020 I received a message again from VFS that my decision envelope is ready for collection. Was delivered by courier service today and it was approved!!!!!. Tried severally to link my paper application to an online account but it kept saying 'no information found'. Am more than happy.

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Aduke02(f): 4:40pm On Feb 06, 2020
His case is a bit complicated - He had applied for a couple of study permits in the last 3 years that were denied due to proof of funds, limited employment prospects etc. His ties to Canada would be me, as we are dating and disclosed that in the application. He has been to the US and UK in the last 2 years on visits and returned back to his job which he has been employed at for about 6 years now - not a spectacular paying job, but not bad by nigerian standards. We struggled with the decision of disclosing our relationship and there were many conflicting posts on Nairaland and Canadavisa. In the end, we opted for the truth. I work in the same profession in Canada with a six-figure salary and i am a Canadian citizen. I provided a strong letter of invitation and supporting documents like my payslips, employment letter, lease and my Canadian passport. I knew his previous refusals may play a role in the outcome of this application but i was hoping for the best.

I'm wondering what you'd advise us to do as per next steps. Reconsideration/appeal? Or just see the relationship play out and when we are married, apply for the spousal visa? I'd appreciate your input on this.
