EBSU Students Appreciate Gov. Umahi Over Construction Of Road Leading To The Institution (Photos)

The students of Ebonyi State University, on Thursday, applauded Governor David Nweze Umahi over the construction of road leading to the institution on concrete pavement.

The students appreciated Governor Umahi for the quality of work being done on the road.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV on Thursday, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Francis Nwaze said it is the major road linking Abakaliki-Ishieke-Enugu old road.

According to him, "It was hitherto a death trap to users and a heartache to students plying it as it was filled with potholes."

"Recall that Governor David Umahi had few months ago, during his campaign for second tenure promised to construct the road to the standard that will make it to last beyond 50 years."

"Truth is, his promise was never to make it a double lane but as the construction goes on, the entire people of the affected communities were thrown into surprise as they discovered that the road is not just made with 8 inches concrete pavement but also dualized thereby, making way for free movement of the road users."

"The most affected people on this development apart from the Ishieke community are the Ebonyi State University students who access their main campus, market and residence through the road."

"Some students during our visit to the construction site appreciated and thanked Gov. Umahi for the quality of work being done on the road."

"Indeed, we are proud to say that we have a brand new Ebonyi State."

You can imagine what Ebonyi governor is doing with the little allocation they get unlike that Buffon in Abia that is receiving 13% additional yet unable to construct a single flyover...is Abia cursed or what, I can't just seem to get it...can someone from elsewhere come and rule Abia even if it's for a year

Dave Umahi silently working his way to history. Imo couldn't hear word over Rochas and his China roads. They are all filled with potholes now. This road is solid and can withstand weather and time.

Appreciations to a governor is really not out of place. Out of place if we appreciate what they are supposed to do. However we can appreciate a governor who is no more in power but still doing what we don't expect of him, at least he's however no more in power.

Seems this governor is really getting it right

this man should just anex the whole of Ibo land and control, afterall their tiny land locked 5%ter state isnt even up to Niger State and same as Oyo in LandMass, this road would last for decades with repair

Ebonyi state.The only state in the South were the poverty level is more than 50%.Not surprised it is an ipob state; those people are dragging us backwards.

Will have to change our mentality in this country, whose money was used to build the road? It wasn’t the governor money but rather tax payers money, please this is our right as a good citizen so please stop appreciate them but rather ask them to be accountable of whatever projects they are executing.
