My thoughts!....great to have good roads.... but if this is completed then what will happen when it rains? No drainage... water will settle between the roadways and gradually undermine the foundation. Also expected the roadway to be done in blocks to cater for expansion and contraction and prevent cracks. But... who cares... after seeing hell for so long... this is Heaven.

Solid road.

Ebonyi State a beauty to behold...went for a conference there in November 2019...I won't lie the place too fine plus all those lagos under bridge kind of design, the roundabouts, good complexes and the roads can be seen being constructed with rods binded to themselves as a base...I vowed to go back for a weekend with my woman sometime soon

This governor refused to go the normal way of sharing the money but choose to develop his state by all means... Even the villages re not left out, constructing roads that will surely last long not the kind nddc is constructing in pH that only last for 3yrs....he sure deserve some accolade.

I like his spirit... Even rivers state has nothing on ebonyi.

That's why wike want to hurriedly contruct 3 flyovers at a time because he has seen that there's no single signature project to his name...

The students of Ebonyi State University, on Thursday, applauded Governor David Nweze Umahi over the construction of road leading to the institution on concrete pavement.

The students appreciated Governor Umahi for the quality of work being done on the road.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV on Thursday, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Francis Nwaze said it is the major road linking Abakaliki-Ishieke-Enugu old road.

According to him, "It was hitherto a death trap to users and a heartache to students plying it as it was filled with potholes."

"Recall that Governor David Umahi had few months ago, during his campaign for second tenure promised to construct the road to the standard that will make it to last beyond 50 years."

"Truth is, his promise was never to make it a double lane but as the construction goes on, the entire people of the affected communities were thrown into surprise as they discovered that the road is not just made with 8 inches concrete pavement but also dualized thereby, making way for free movement of the road users."

"The most affected people on this development apart from the Ishieke community are the Ebonyi State University students who access their main campus, market and residence through the road."

"Some students during our visit to the construction site appreciated and thanked Gov. Umahi for the quality of work being done on the road."

Are you blind to see that the road was casted.....my friend that's raw concrete you're seeing there. The more water and sun touches it, the stronger it becomes.

And about the drainage system, that's what he does first before starting any road construction. He's a sound civil engineer that supervises all state projects by himself......not like the olodo who knows nothing about construction that you concurred to his post.
