Great. Good for you. If you paid for home delivery, it should be delivered soon else, you can pick it up at the VFS then. I wish you good news

Yes,that was what he said

smiley Interesting, but I really don't think that document would mean much (if anything) to the Consular. An affidavit promising marriage isn't really tenable for legal arguments. I wish you the best though.

I actually think that it depends on the visa category. Long term visa category takes longer time than others.

Cost of living in CPT depends on the neighbourhood you are looking at. As it is with every city in the world, some areas are cheaper than the other depending on a number of different factors. Unfortunately, Capeetown is one of the most expensive city to live in the republic.

Straight to your question, I will give you the average cost of certain goods and services in CPT.

1. Housing: Averagely 5k for a room with shared facilities like kitchen and toilets. There are cheaper ones and there are also houses on the higher side.

2. Food: Depends on how you choose to eat. R300/day if you like to eat out. Groceries vary according to brands and shops. Usually cheaper at shoprite, pick n pay, etc

3. Clothing: Mostly buy clothes during sales. Men shirt R150, Sneakers R600 to R1000, Jean's R150 to R250, Women dress R100 to R250, Women shoes R150, Women bags (Regular)R300.

4. Taxi: Depends on distance and period of the day, (Peak and off peak periods). Usually between R9 to R20 for short distances. Uber and Bolt also available with varying prices according to time of the day and distance.

That's all I can think of for now.

Thanks a lot for these pointers...

Possible areas would be Century city or Milnerton. Preferably an apartment that is ensuite, no sharing.

Transportation should not be an issue.. Seems its relatively fair.

An ensuite apartment will be more expensive for sure. Something in the range of R10k should do. I think @slickrule stays around century city. He will be more helpful and resourceful regarding that.

Please note that the taxis that I mentioned earlier are the regular commercial bus thing. Metro and private taxis are quite expensive, same as metered taxis.

Good day my people, I have mostly been a passive user of this thread for the past few months and you guys have been on a tremendous support, that's why I want to share my success story.

I applied for my study permit on December 10th last year and i was waiting for my visa to come out on time but when it didn't come out, I emailed the two Consular emails that you guys provided on monday January 20th requesting for quick processing of my visa application. They replied me immediately that my request has been submitted few hrs later on same day.

On Tuesday January 21st, another email was sent to me that my visa application is been considered. On Wednesday, I got the email that my visa is ready. I tracked it and it was indeed ready.

My people, I picked up my visa today and I have been approved 2yrs postgraduate study permit. For who may have this questions, I'm going in for Postgraduate program in cape town, that's all I can say.

If you have applied for your Visa, especially study permit, please feel free to contact the them through that email that were provided on here two weeks ago, I'm sure you shall hear good news soon as well.

Shallom!

Congrats can you please share the format of the email with me. I sent you a PM.

Thanks

You have to try to reapply, but they don't condone fake documents at all. Just hope they haven't blacklisted your passport/Name.

You don't really have to pay an agent if you have your documents ready, I don't know if you can get a sponsor for your visa application, but try and be genuine in your next application.

I am really sorry for the refusal.

Baba, you have most likely been banned from submitting fraudulent documents.

So long as you keep applying, they will keep denying you.

Yes,that was what he said

Don't do it, except you are really going to marry him. In some countries, a promise is binding and to think that you both have an affidavit to prove promise. Besides, I don't understand what was meant by relationship not recognized cos I have invited a few [legitimate] friends as friends, and there was no issue.

Hello guys, if you’re in South Africa or intending to relocate and want to rent an apartment within the fourways, Midrand and Sandton areas in Johannesburg, please contact me. I’m a real estate Agent working under Rawson properties. If you’re also looking to invest in buying properties here, I’m your plug. You don’t necessarily have to live in South Africa before investing in their properties. Properties are long time investment.. however if you are based here and looking to rent or buy , do contact me. I don’t know if I can drop my email here. We have lots of properties available. We can always schedule a viewing so you can see the house yourself.
Ciao

Hello everyone, please i got my documents yesterday and a letter that says "there's no proof of relationship between you and the sponsor "
Though the agent that arranged the document decided to use his documents as that of d sponsor and he indicated that I'm his fiancee. Now,my question is, how do i appeal, because it was included in the letter that I should appeal within 10 working days.the agent said he would send the documents they require through courier. Please how is it done?am i supposed to submit by myself?
submit fresh application don't appeal .make sure you submit genuine docs

Pls gurus in the house, which other African country do u think I should sub for SA. I have been to Ghana and Dubai. Just want to burst my travel history once more.

Thank u
