They mostly station themselves very close to their offices and they close by 4pm. If they choose to change location, we will adapt accordingly. There will always be a way to survive in the jungle.

I want to narrate the ordeal i went through yesterday in the hand of an Old Baga who faked a transfer of 3100 naira .
Here's the story : I took this Jigolo from 17 Balarabe Musa, Vi to Oworo on a 1.5X Bolt surge at 10am yesterday . When we got to his street, he pretended to be nice by asking me to end the trip because the road that leads to his place is not motorable. I did and he asked if he could do a bank transfer, usually i don't grant that request but because we had good conversations all through the journey and he looked like a well to do elderly man, i obliged.
Called out my account details and he read out my name ,after which i saw saw transaction successful on his phone screen . He thanked me and we bid ourselves bye bye.
Long story short , this unfortunate slowpoke faked the transfer and all my efforts to get my money has been abortive.
Please guys, help me launch an attack on his phone number 09057031333.

For one rider that I do get his request when I'm leaving my house most mornings to drop-off at NPA, Marina. He usually gives 2k as tip all the time, twice this week. Lol. That's the kind of rider you can accept transfer from, not a sweet talking mofo that drops off on the road side.

How can you tell that my car is an Uber? My car documents are complete and duly registered. Once I have presented you with my documents, any other questions, I WILL NOT ANSWER. The pussies and the jittery uber drivers are the ones that will fall for this hackney permiand license BS. I don't know about it, never heard until uber makes it a prerequisite. I don't ever stop for these VIO guys anyways, no matter what.

Again, always scrutinize requests before going for pickups.

The Lagos state govt says there is a transport license coupled with other requirements that commercial taxi should have. Are they wrong to call uber/bolt and co 'taxi service's- NO... cause their is a payment receive and both parties (uber n driver) earn a fee.

Now the problem therein is what is govt getting from uber/bolt operation within the state?

A simple solution is not telling drivers to pay a 100k for transportation license which yellow buses and cabs dont pay (but they have a strong union which is govt approved), but every driver can pay a Tax on money earned to the govt. Now remember government role is to provide roads and other infrastructure, now this govt is telling me to pay a license fee to use the same road they provided for me - doesnt make sense. But if the tax identification number uber requests for during sign up is actually a verifiable one, every income by driver will be tax and govt gets their share to use for greater good of the state.


But goods news is that from reliable source from code of conduct burea ikeja, there will be a review of their transportation license and it may be reduce to benefit all parties. So watch out coming weeks

One more thing to add, drivers going on strike or protesting at Ubers office over this Lagos State issue, I don't think is the way to go. Uber and Bolt are helpless on this as well as you and I. The issue is that the oligarch that controls Lagos are trying to use every means possible to have everything that moves under their absolute control with the stream of money that comes with it. If they mean it, Uber and Bolt can become history just the way Okada and Keke went underground. They will in turn create a mediocre e-hailing platform and ask you to register with them, you will now have to battle with government officials and their touts. The rest will be history. There's a malicious and evil intent/undertone to all of this from the Lagos State government. Uber and Bolt may be hapless, may not be blamed if the eventual outcome of this does not favour their partners

Same Lagos felt Opay and co were menace to 'New Mega city' plan but gave relevance and power to NURTW such that MC's NURTW were taking 400 naira daily on every ehailing bike when opay and Gokada were still operating.

I guess NURTW, Molue, thugs chasing buses on the roads to collect one fee or the other are aligned with mega city plans.

That's my concern also, people should stop making case for uber. Uber needs to come out and talk.

Guys please help me and call this highly irresponsible and immature fellow. After many hours in traffic of which the sum was meager, he refused to transfer my balance of 1400 naira. The money maybe small but in these trying times, why should I be robbed?

The people we need to speak with/to for now are the e-hailing company NOT the government except they are helpless then you can move to the government, let them keep speaking with the government rather than we entering the street with placards.

You guys have spoken well, the essence of going on strike should be to get the app companies do something about the situation not keeping the partners in the dark.

Right on point. Na some uber drivers that are causing this problems. Instead of them to wait for the official announcement, but they are busy making enquiries and some even going as far requesting for permit..
