Since I came to Nantes, I have lived a conservative life.
Before I left 9ja, I prepared for a new life of experience and exploration grin grin. I aren't a jew guy (or so I thought). The period I stayed in Abuja was a whole lot of learning experience. I tried my best to find balance between work and social life.

So when this opportunity came, I saw it as another time to take the social life international. Unknown to me, this school has a different plan, one that would push me back to my room and not only make me a "jew guy" but a jewish council of elders cheesy cheesy.

I accepted my fate and have lived on for 6 months now without any social activities.

So last week, I decided to go to the party and see what's happening out there.

Erasmus Students Network organized a party last week. Unfortunately, the Erasmus guys in my class has left to other countries but before leaving, they handed over the baton of partying to one of my classmate, a Turkish guy and a very good friend of mine.

Before going to the party, he asked me if I have some c.ondo.ms, and that his own is finished. I told him I have, shocked ofcourse, I always have to be prepared. I got some packets of it about 15 before leaving the country. It was the last I put inside my bag as most of the packing was done by my mom and sister and I didn't want them to wonder if it is studies I was going for or ..............

So I went with 6 (incase luck shines on us that night). Something shocked me anyway, when I handed him the 3 and he saw the diameter of the circular personal protective equipment (PPE grin grin), the guy was surprised and he immediately told me that it's too big for him. I was like, what the fvck do you mean. He told me that I shouldn't bother and that as a black guy, he expect a big .... compared to his own and that the size decreases as you go up to the northern hemisphere . I have never heard a thing like that before.

Anyway, luck didn't shine on us that night embarassed embarassed embarassed. We had a great time partying and dancing, however, I learned many things about the social life of the French people.

Most French ladies are quite reserved. They don't want to associate whether you are black or white, as long as you are not french, their ladies don't want to go into relationships with non French people (Exceptions exist for some rare events of one night stand which most often goes in the favour of the black guys who they believe possess better shooting machine).

I got very few pictures, about 2, others were personal pictures though.

Hi Guys,

Bonjour à touts cheesy cheesy

So sometime in December 2019, we received an email from our school about an available scholarship for Nuclear Engineering Masters Student. You can assess the fund if you will be staying in France (so automatically, the Erasmus guys are exempted from applying). The fund is from EDF (EDF is the france Nuclear electric power generation company). However, there was a clause in the email asking those who currently have scholarship not to apply for the fund .

I guess they didn't know who they are talking to grin grin. Me that is looking for money from all angles. A lot of people are waiting for our arrival and aside that, one don't need to return back with certificate and pictures alone. Certificate you don't even know if you will be using soon with the level of nepotism in the country.

So when I read the email and the part that said we shouldn't apply if we are currently on scholarship, I did my ear as if I am a swineherd (she must be hitting hand in a tipper fully loaded with sand, Mrphysics can't and won't miss this opportunity). Recall, we are two Nigerians in our class, so we both decided to apply shocked shocked. The worst case scenario is being rejected but it is much better to apply and get rejected than not applying and forever living with the guilt of not knowing what would have happened if we applied.

So we came back and decided to put up a nice application, telling them why we need the fund even though we have a scholarship grin grin, we gave them 101 reason while we need the scholarship and thank God the assessment is done in our school before sending the selected awardees to EDF and the lady making the assessment already knew we are on PTDF Scholarship (Because the Nigerian government is the only government that pays the complete tuition fee for NE, 24k euros, so they see us as coming from a rich country and would want to win more souls to the school).

So last week, on Tuesday to be precise, we received a congratulatory message that we have been selected for the scholarship cheesy grin and that I would be awarded 4000 euros. They requested us to sign an acceptance document and also to forward our account number. The other guy got almost same amount 3000 euros. I think both of us got the highest amount.

I nearly went to price our residential building cheesy grin. Free money is the sweetest, no exams, no interview, just simple application and N1.5m just landed like that. This is surely a win to my guys in Ogbete main market Enugu wink.

So guys, get your knife, wash your hands and let's celebrate this.

Thanks bro. I am not really a good writer, I just try to do my best and improve my writing skills.

Why not open a thread on Diary section, try to write on any topic. The purpose is not to have the best thread but to get started putting your thoughts down. Again, you already write well, just go into something that is deeper or little bit complicated.

Warm wishes boss

Some members on nairaland are ghost readers right from the time they registered on nairaland while others turn to ghost readers due to some reasons best known to them. Like me for example, I'm busy with school examination and other things like learning German etc
