Kill! kill!! kill! , eat everything, wat kind of hungry savages do we have in this country?

They can eat their wards if need arises, stomach infrastructure is the only thing a Nigerian is concerned about.

We deserve the impoverished state we are in!

Monsters everywhere!

So, why blaming the farmers from protecting themselves against the predator?
God bless you!
Most people here don't know how dangerous a hippo is!
FYI; a Hippo kills 50X more people than a lion will!
Google the most dangerous large animal!

Hippopotamuses are not predators, they are Herbivore. The main source of food for the Hippo is the short grass
and they consume any type of plants that are found in the water
Another lost soul... What is the meaning of predator? Always thinking they are smart. So, predator only has a sole meaning?

The NOA is the agency for that

The fraudulent national assembly can also make laws banning such killings..

Bad condition is bad for anything bad.

In east African countries it's a huge crime to kill such animal.

But in my cannibalistic country like Nigeria they can eat human being caught in a fishing net under water.

Your argument is sound, albeit for a relatively sound environment of sound humans, where Nigeria is unfortunately not one!
How many locales of rich tourism resource areas benefit from the tourism generated revenue?
What with the dearth of peace and security? Who will visit ( not to talk of pay ...) the area concerned, when Nigeria is generally perceived as a No-go country for now?

Allow those guys eat their Kponmo jareee!

Wide life preservation and economization are the duties of the leadership at national and state levels... The laws for their protection should spring from the House of Assembly.

Barely literate people living below a Dollar per day, are not going to do any of the above.

Is it the farmers that will protect the wildlife? Didn't you read where it was stated that the said animal has caused havoc to farmlands?
They should have informed conservation groups. Those people know how to relocate such animals to places where they won't get into trouble with humans.

greatover:
Fishermen in Samanaji town in Koko Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State, trapped and killed a Hippopotamus said to be wrecking havoc on Farmlands in the area.

The animal was killed by teams of fishermen who have been trailing it's movements for sometime.

Samanaji town is situated on the banks of River Niger.
They obviously have a very limited view of how to make money for the long run and safeguard their environment for posterity simultaneously.

You missed out the local governments?
The leaders are a reflection of the people ultimately. No leader can go against the coherent wish of the people except he is no longer interested in being their leader.

Predator (definition). A predator is an animal that eats other animals — or people or companies who act like they do. Lions are predators, but so are pickpockets and some giant corporations. The word predator started out referring to insects that ate other insects, but has grown to include any animal that eats another animal

This is totally wrong. Nigerians need proper reorientation, FG need to do something drastic about all these killings of both humans and wild animals.

It's said the the animal had been wrecking havoc for long. They may have told the gvt to come to their aid but to no avail.
Trapping and keeping a hippo for just a night by locals is a big task because it's a deadly animal. The only easier way is to kill it.Besides,it's a rear opportunity they got to trap it because the story said they have been trying to to get it for long not until now.Naa, cannibalism does not exist in that part of Nigeria.
