The Ag. DG, FIIRO has recently been kicked out of his job for forged credentials. Next time, parties should ensure to thoroughly screen their candidates.
If possible, do the background checks themselves.

The reason for the disqualification seems lame. If it is a genuine reason, I am sure many present-day governors will lose their seat if background checks were carried out on their deputies.

Even though i'm more aligned with the PDP this judgment is wrong. Same as that of Imo state.

The supreme court should have allowed Lyon to be sworn in and disqualified his deputy. Lyon would then pick another deputy. The people of Bayelsa voted for Lyon, not his deputy.

The law is very clear on that, no sentiments. You must have a deputy for you to contest. And when you presented an unqualified deputy, it’s as good as you don’t have any.. very simple and clear.
