Some clowns claiming here that an affidavit is enough for this case are sick in the skull.

How on Earth can someone answer different official names?
To me he's a fraudster.

The SC judgment is final.

However it is a total calamity.

The issue at stake is whether having different names on a certificate backed by an affidavit of change of name, amounts to false information of a fundamental nature.

Facts:

1.No case of forgery was established
2.No evidence to prove that the defendant is indeed not the owner of the certificates

Case of false information was not proven beyond reasonable doubt.

I am tempted to ask if you really need to be a trained lawyer or judge,to deliver sound justice

IMO,now Bayelsa,what a shame!!!

I totally agree and aligned with this.those discrepancies are not of a fundamental nature and the proofs are not conclusive.it was a 50 50 case, another panel may not have sacked him.
Several governors had similar issues and were not removed.
Did pdp call witnesses to prove the forgery ?
Did pdp call any of the authorities that issued him the certificate to certify or deny it?
Was the affidavits shown to be false?
Is discrepancies in names a certainty of forgery?
This is a criminal case and must be proven beyond reasonable doubt and not based on hearsays, speculations and speculative evidences

Only one explanation can be given to his different choice of identity..

Forgery....!!!

Meanwhile the same person that did former Minister Kemi's NYSC Certificate may have done that of this Degi.
He should be handed over to the Police or better still he should hand himself over for investigation.

Apart from his names, his very life may'd also been forged...

A liar would have to tell 99 more lies to cover-up for the 1 lie he told

To me, I don't think it's forgery.
I see it as someone who lives a rascal life in school. He may be one of those stubborn boys that don't even care about what their parents will say about their lifestyles.

Back in those days, who are u to write a name that my parents did not give to us on our books.
Even if u want to have guyname (nickname) you have to limit answering it in the school or wen very far from my dad or else, you must explain why you should answer that nonsense.

This one was doing anyhow is school not know that his village ppl have bn following hm patiently and waiting for him at the door of his success to teach him lesson.

Only a foolish man will believe anything from a PDP stooge like the OP. The only thing needed to reconcile all the name from the document the OP listed is a sworn affidavit from any law court in Nigeria so how is that a problem worth nullifying a gubernatorial election over ?

You, a common man knows this and I'm sure if you were in his position you'd have done this long before even purchasing the form. But a whole grown up man wanting the position of deputy governor did not know or think of this even with all his friends, advisers and co. Yet you can still open your mouth to defend him. I keep saying it all these youths supporting apc or pdp or one politician or the other must have had their brains washed out...

Validated:

The forgery is introducing Eremienyo not anywhere in his certificates. Typo and misspelling as well as first name before last name can be overlooked. Not bearing an entirely new name in a governorship race.

Perhaps you need to go back to school to understand the meaning of forgery.

So if my Bsc certificate reads John Mark and MSc reads John Chidi Mark Adamu, backed by affidavit of change of name,I am a forger, abi??

And the court was unable to prove that I stole or forge the two certificates.

Lesson to learn here is that, all my wards will only go wit two names.. Surname n his/her official name.. I hate more than two names.. I have been a victim to this in the pass.. Where I recommended to my Waec register to write my three names, the man in d end went ahead to wrote just two n abbreviated d third, When I asked him, he shouted at me like "no space hidiot cheesy" I have to rectified it after I graduated from high institution.

I will sue any teachers or individual who even dare to ask for my kid third name.

That errors has derailed many people opportunity.

Look at d man now, causing APC a huge blow in Bayelsa State

Whatever, the law does not include conflicting information as a basis for disqualification. Only false information can disqualify a candidate.

The intention of the law is to the effect that the candidate did not forge the declared qualification .

The SC judgement is a total calamity.

Tho, Baba Buhari survived it with POWERS but it's so sad and unfortunate for LYON...Myself(4JAMB) and Lyon(4Dergi) suffered for others mistakes.

You are the clown here. No university will issue you a certificate that has a name not known to them at the time of your admission. If you were admitted as John Mark, how can a university now turn around and add Chidi and Adamu (unknown to them) to your masters certificate?

Please, go back and read OPs post, the name Eremienyo DOES not exist anywhere in his academic records. So why use such in an election as crucial as governorship Something is fishy and smelling real bad -FORGERY!!

For your information, change of name is A PUBLIC issue and must be done by publication so people who knew you as A will now know you are now B, not affidavit that is only filed away without the general public being informed.

These are the different names traceable to the APC Deputy Governor in Bayelsa that led to Supreme Court disqualification of the governor.
He bore these names at different stages of his life.

Mr Degi-Eremienyo’s name was written as Degi Biobara in his primary school certificate.
The documents from his secondary education bore Adegi Biobarakumo, as his name.
While that of his university education had Degi Biobarakuma as his name.

Also his MBA certificate had Degi Biobarakuma Wangaha as the name of the same person.
As the Deputy Governor-Elect he bore
Mr Degi-Eremienyo.

Honestly, it’s high time the electoral laws are reviewed and passed into law. Imagine after elections, the court will becos of one technicality oppose the peoples choice. This is really bad and the Supreme Court is setting a very bad precedence . How can a loser be declared a winner by the Supreme Court? Why can’t they disqualify the deputy governor and allow Lyon to choose another person ? This is where the new electoral laws will be useful. I am pro Buhari but I must admit that he is seriously not doing the right thing by not signing the reviewed electoral laws . This kind of recklessness can never happen when PDP was in power. How can one after winning election and 18hrs to the inauguration, the mandate is voided by just 5judges ? This is really crazy, what about the people that massively voted for the candidate? PMB ‘s nonchalant attitude will not do APC any good. How can this thing happen during PDP rule ?Imagine losing Zamfara and now Bayelsa not to talk of Rivers , where they did not field any candidate. I bet u, Oshiomhole has to go. His over bearing attitude and recklessness has caused the party more harm than good. This Bayelsa is one mistake too many. How can they field a candidate with 5 different names at a point in his life, one name for primary, another one for secondary, another for university, another one for MBA and funny enough, another name for election. Who does that ? I can not believe that INEC accepted the five names for the election. This is ridiculous , a clear case of forgery and the PDP judge, Mary Odili did not waste time in kicking his ass out not minding the chaos such ruling can cause bearing in mind that it is just 18hrs to inauguration. I have been following court rulings and I understand that judges do consider a lot of things before their final verdict. Incase of elections, they consider the cost of rerun and also what the judgement will result to if not carefully managed. Why should a judge void election 18hrs to inauguration? Forget about parties and politicians , I am been realistic here . They should have at least shifted the judgement till after inauguration. Their judgement will result in some people taking laws in their hands and before u know it, people will die. This judges should fear God ooo. As for Lyon, I feel for u but I am sure that the Lord will wipe ur tears. It’s a pity that ur running mate caused u this pain but God has a way of settling things. May be He never wanted u to rule Bayelsa with a forger. Pls the deputy governor should be sued to court and jailed at least it will serve as a deterrent to other politicians who want to rule by force. Do not worry Lyon, I am sure that God will compensate u for this loss. Come out again in 2023 and u will triumph by Gods Grace with someone that has integrity. It is well, Lyon!!!
